This frame is in good condition and just needs a good cast iron cleaning for this treasure was found in a scrap pile in a yard with some rust and weeds. What a great find! This buety is dated around the late 1800's and they are getting very hard to find. This fireplace cover measures 32.5 inches tall by 29.5 inches across. A beautiful antique walnut fireplace mantel. Dating from the late 1800’s. The mantel features dentil trim around the top, with turned spindles and a backboard ornamented with stylized quatrefoils. The mantel legs are ornamented with a carved flower and a bead-and-reel panel design. The mantel has been notched out at the bottom of the legs on either side, probably for a hearth, and there is a hairline crack along the back board(pictured) The mantel measures 50-1/2” tall and 72” wide with a projection of approx. 12” the firebox opening is 38-5/8” wide and 31-5/8” tall. This is a superb antique fireplace cover in the Egyptian style motif. It is 30.75" tall and 24.5" wide. The front is in very good condition; the back shows rust. I believe it is tin because of the back; the front looks like copper. It has a 3-d effect bulge at the viewing vent. It weighs about 4 pounds and has a wall mounting loop in the back.

Antique fire place mantle,late 1800's, (Wood,Tiger oak, Bevel glass mirror))
This old fire place mantle comes from an old house in Washington DC build in late 1800's early 1900. It was made with solid tiger oak. It has 2 rounded shelves at the top of 2 colums, decorative fleur de lys, nice wood carvings. The bivel mirror is in good condition and appears to be original. Few scratches here and there barely visibles, a couple small burns on top the lower shelf, some small decorative parts missing, hard to see. The over all condition is very good for such an old piece. Dimensions: Width. 60, Height 80, fire place opening 41 1/2 W, 38 1/2 H. Mirror is 30 W, 17 1/2 H. Each colum is 57 H. Shelves 10 inches across. This mantle is pick only in Fort Washington MD.
