Architectural Oak Roman Columns Circa 1890's
Hello. For sale are 2 architectural oak columns that were salvaged from a turn of the century home in Cincinnati, Ohio. They are oak with a beautiful quarter sawn veneer in its original finish. They are based on the ionic Roman order of design with the scrolled capitals. Each stands 74" tall, 13" in diameter and 6 1/2" wide capital. Excellent, original condition with a mellow warm patina that only time can bring. Minor, stable age splits in the veneer and wear consistent with age that really only enhance their beauty. Absolutely great shape, and ready as they are, to be incorporated into your decorating or rehabbing project. Weight is 20 lbs a piece. Antique Bradley and Hubbard andirons bronze/brass circa 1890/1900
Up for auction is a very unique pair of Bradley and Hubbard andirons. These beautiful antique andirons were an estate find in South Carolina low country. They are made or brass or bronze except for the leg part where the log goes that is cast iron. The entire front including the handle is made of the same material brass or bronze.I can see a few places where the shiny metal shows thru as shown in the pictures. I do not want to remove the beautiful patina. The top part is hollow and you can turn the top finial and unscrew it. I only turned it slightly for the photo but it appears to be in 4 separate pieces. These are both in great condition and I do not see any damage or repairs. I have not been able to find any just like it in my research. They are both stamped Bradley and Hubbard mfg co 12. I am letting go one of my most cherished possessions. They are simply beautiful. They are 38" high and 12" wide at thei base, which is the widest part. These date back to 1890 and similar items can be found all over the internet for $5,000 up to 14k! Honestly, none were as pretty as this pair.
