Vintage Hammered Brass 4 Fold Fireplace Screen - 52" W X 30" H
This fireplace screen came to me in 1979. I was told- at that point in time- that it was an antique. I do not have specific information about the origin of the screen. It was most likely made in New England.long before 1979. The screen is hammered brass frame with heavy black screening. We used the screen as a fireplace screen from 1981 to 1991. Since then it's been in storage. The screening is intact. As is the frame. There is one obvious ding in the top of the frame and one in the front of the frame. I'm not sure if that was from wear.or too vigorous hammering. There are 4 segments(13" wide X 30" high-each) that are linked together by pins that pivot in any direction. The screen can be straight. Folded, or just folded on the ends. In all- straight across- the screen could be 52" wide.and shorter depending on how deep ... morethe folds are. Thanks for looking!

These are solid metal not like the newer made sets and their condition is a testimony to the sturdy design structure. Both functional and beautiful to behold. There is floral raised reliefs in addition to the Fleur de lis designs, overall hammered stucco texture of surface design. A full time Gardner and livery stable man lived there. It was actually occupied until the 1950s by a driver. They bought only the finest items and with no children things show little or no wear. DETAILS* These are a Lovely pair of Cahill Ironworks cast iron andirons with bronze and brass finish. They are is hand hammered. They are marked Cahill in diamond pattern and also have the number 82 on the back. I ... morebelieve the ANDIRONS are circa 1900, super Mission or Art& Crafts design, beautiful. Iron Cross like pattern decorates the base and moveable decorative handle of each piece. Cahills Architectural Brass and Iron Works was an ironwork's company out of Chattanooga, Tn. which was in operation from 1875 to 1922. They are 18 1/2 tall and 9.50" wide. Total depth is 19" with log holders. The top point and handles are brass finished, they contrast nicely against the bronze finish of the body, beautiful. The log holders are attached with bolt, will remove for packing. They will need to be reattached when you receive them. Easy to do. Finish shows light wear considering their age would consider condition very good, no rust on decorative piece's. Log holders do have light rust from use. Antique Arts and Crafts Andirons w/Fender, Hand-Hammered Brass over Iron
This is an early 20th C. pair of andirons with matching fender in the Arts& Crafts style. They are made of hand-hammered brass over iron with shield and crest motifs. I have only seen a few sets of similar andirons and they were either for sale in London or had an English attribution. I have not been able to decipher the maker's marks which appear to be a stylized"D" Please see the pictures and perhaps you can provide some insight. Despite their mysterious attribution. They are very well made and required a significant amount of skilled hand work. Each andiron weighs 14.4 lbs and they measure 18.25"H. 10.5"W, 21"D. Their matching fender is 42"W, 12"D, and 7.5"H. I replaced the two fasteners on the fender, and t here are small spots of surface corrosion here and there(please see the pictures) ... moreAdditionally. The right andiron's spit holder spins freely but will remain in place when positioned. The left andirons spit holder was refastened some time ago with a patinated brass screw. Vintage/Antique 1919 Cast Iron Andirons Hammered,Ornate,Brass Plated Tops
This is a pair of vintage cast iron andirons recently acquired at an estate sale.They are dated 1919 with a casting number of 3718.These andirons are in good rusty vintage condition and still show some signs of the original brass plating on the ball tops.There are no cracks.Breaks,or welding repair marks on them.These andirons are 18" tall an 8 1/4" wide across the base.The ball tops and spindle shaped necks have a hand hammered look and the bases have an ornate scroll design.I haven't done anything to them except clean off some cobwebs,so they show surface rust and some creosote build up which is consistent with their age and use.These andirons could make a good addition to give the fireplace a rustic vintage look.Thank you for looking. 006.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk%600d72f%2B%3E006-14a0875dadd-0x10a-

Antique hammered brass over hard wood fireside gold color tinder box pictured with clipper ship at sea with birds in sky. Could use some loving care to restore to original condition. It is good for a piece from this period. It is approx. 12 3/4" high by 12 1/2" wide. The front angles down like a breadbox to about 5" from bottom. This is a very unique piece. 1800's Cahill solid brass fireplace tools set shovel hammered art deco Iowa
Very neat and heavy set of Cahill fireplace tools. So the story goes this came out of a historic house in Coucil Bluffs Iowa the sign that was attached is shown in pictures. I don't have any way to confirm this story but maybe someone has a pic or something. Very good tool set!
