Eastlake Victorian Walnut Dresser With White Marble Top, Diamond Dust Mirror
This is a really nice old Eastlake Victorian dresser. It is in remarkably good condition. The drawers have the pegged scolloped rabbet joint very typical of the 1870's. The drawer bottoms are all original and in good condition. The top drawer which got a lot more use than the other drawers was worn on the bottom so its sides have been added onto to make them the proper size. The knobs have been replaced. But there is just one hole in the drawer indicating that the original pulls were single knobs. More pictures can be made available upon request for such things as I just described. This dresser is 98 inches tall to the top of the mirror. The dresser base is 26 inches tall to the top of the marble and it is 46 inches wide. The depth from front to back is 20-1/2 inches. Offered here is an amazing. One-of-a-kind small chest of drawers or child's dresser that has been covered with Victorian decoupage of various die cut printed pieces of advertising, greeting cards, etc. I have seen a lot of antiques, and looked on the internet for similar pieces, but I can't find anything comparable to this. This is a great handmade folk art piece that would be the highlight of any room. Despite it's petite size. A great decorator piece to put on top of another chest or table, use as a side table or night stand, put at the end of a hall, etc. Yes. This is covered with hundreds, if not thousands, of small colorful pieces of paper. I've tried to show this in the photos, particularly in the one of the top with the glancing light, and on another the edges of the drawer. Chest measures 22 1/2" wide. 21 3/4" ... moretall, and 12 1/2" deep overall. The basic case is about 21" x 21" x 12" with the top extending on the sides and front, and the small scalloped backsplash adding a bit to the depth. The chest is constructed out of pine. Including the drawer bottoms, and has nicely paneled sides. There is lovely, period paper lining the drawers. The back of the dresser was covered by some previous owner with a piece of masonite and is a newer addition. Please see all the photos. This beautiful dresser has the original beveled mirrors intact. No cracks. Center mirror swivels vertically. It is believed that the drawer hardware is original. It does not appear that it was ever refinished and therefore has a lovely patina. There are some scratches, slight warpage and imperfections on the top surface consistent with the age of the item. Sometimes the drawers can be a little balky sliding them in and out. I bought this 36 years ago and at the time the maker's name and'1896' was faintly handwritten on the back. On the right hand side of the marble top there is a groove like marking on the marble that is approx. 6" long. The right glove box is not attached to the dresser. I put victorian? Because I dont know. Could be older? This is very old handmade furniture. You may be better at dating it. You may even know who made it. If you have any questions just ask. Base is 15 inches high 27 inches wide 18 and three quarter inches deep The top is 37 three quarters inches tall 26 and a half inches wide 19 to 20 inches deep cabinet space is 25 inches wide by 10 inches tall by 17 inches deep. Top veneer peeled and missing also cracked where board connected under to make one big board front of doors veneer is cracked where boards were used to make the doors. Some of the drawers not in perfect condition. Just loose and couple chips off inside back. They all open and close. I do not have a key for ... morelocks. Bottom drawer lock is there but somebody put wood putty in front. Right drawer pull of base handle part is not original not same as the rest. Front carvings on doors not a mirror image hand-made. Writing on inside of board looks like old style handwriting. Cannot make out. Will try to see what it says. There is about a 1" × 1" hole in back of cabinet. One of the bun feet on base is missing. Someone sanded and srained right side of top part. Slats of back are loose. Will slide if you lift straight up. Very cool old piece. Oldest anything ive ever owned. This is an Antique Late 1800's Victorian Natural Tone Oak Dresser with Original Brass Drawer Pulls and Key Locks/ Hardware. 44.5 inches wide x 33 inches tall x 19.5 inches deep. Has 4 dovetail drawers and metal caster wheels. Key to the locks is unavailable. The lower drawer bottom has been replaced. All drawers are opening and closing properly. Item is structurally sound for it's age. Caster wheels are all rolling. Top back right corner has a slight warp on the tabletop with separation and a small crack. Shouldn't be a problem for most. It's not noticeable when standing against a wall. Item was lightly sanded and clear varnished in the mid 1970's. Small top drawers are 18 inches wide x 5.5" tall. 1800's Walnut Tilting Shaving Mirror for Top Of Dresser
Here is a very early 1800's wooden shaving mirror. It is tiltable. I think the wood is walnut. Kind of looks like burled walnut on the mirror. The glass is in good shape. May have a little play in the mirror frame holding the glass. Could be removed and made tighter but it's not going to fall out. The frame does have a few places where the wood cracked over the year and has been glued back in place. One small piece of veneer missing on the side and its about an inch long half inch wide. Not noticeable since it's on the side. There is one small spot on the top of the mirror frame where it looks like the wood started to splinter and its been patched with some putty at one time. Very nice turned spindles holding the mirror. Up for sale is this great Antique marble top dresser it stands over 7 feet tall with the mirror connected to it. It is about 43 inches wide and about 20 inches deep. It has a stunning mirror all complete and not broken. Its flaws are a crack in the marble top but was fixed at some point in itslife so it is one solid piece of marble just re glued back together. Antique 19th Century Mahogany Chest of Drawers - Dresser - Square Nails
It is an antique chest. The chest has mahogany veneer. The drawer sides and bottom are made of oak. The drawers have square nails and the underside of the drawers are hand chamfered. The interior of the pulls have carved mother of pearl. It is 48 1/2" tall x 21" deep x 49" wide. The chest is in fair used condition. The drawers open and close fairly smooth. The veneer has some warping. Chips and old repairs. The top is loose and has some dings, staining and remnants of tape. Overall, it presents well. A true antique. 22 INCH VICTORIAN SALESMAN'S SAMPLE DRESSER-1800's
The model stands 22-1/2" tall. 7-1/2 inches deep and 13-1/2 inches wide. It dates to the late1800's. This unique salesman's sample is of a Victorian dresser with mirror and lamp sconces. It dates sometime in the late 1800's and I have looked for the specific dresser but was unable to find a manufacturer. It is very similar to Eastlake dressers except for the drop center models. This is a 2 piece model but is held together with 2 nails joining the top and bottom. Over the years. This has begun to slightly wobble but can be easily fixed. This model has a wooden dresser top but I would assume the original dresser was marble. A marble top miniature would have been to heavy for a salesman to carry. I am not an expert but it appears to be made completely out of walnut. the mirror is in very good shape for the period. There is some ... morediscoloration and one small bubble but it is all reflective. The mirror is glass but has a wooden back which has protected it over the years. It has 3 sliding drawers which are held together with nails rather than dovetailing like all model furniture from that era. They slide easily. The knob handles on the dresser are intact and solid. There is a slight discoloration to one of the drawers which appears to be an area missed by the original stain but it may have been some other type of damage that I cannot tell. The back has some white paint drippings which to me means it was kept as a display after its usefulness as a sales item ended. Now it is a piece of history.

What a sweet chest of drawers. Salesmans sample, circa 1850. Made of Walnut secondary wood pine. It measures 9 inches tall 9 1/2 inches wide 5 3/4 deep The chest has a water stain on the top. I have never tried to bleach it out. It looks to have been finished in the past. The rear of one of the drawers looks like it had been nibbled on. In it's past, see photo. I have owned it for 25 years purchased it from an estate in Maine. You can see in the photo that they did a repair to the top left corner of the top drawer Patched with care but the oppisit corner has a chip yet to be fixed. The sample shows very well and the Walnut has depth in the grains. So nice to look at.
