Chest has very nice carved feet front and back with bowed top as well as bowed front. It measures approx 22" tall including swivel mirror. 12 1/4" wide at feet, and 9" deep at feet and has 2 small drawers at top and l larger drawer at bottom. Mirror is in fine condition. The small drawers each measure approx 5 3/8" x 4" x 2 1/2" deep. The one on the right has a smaller pull than the others but it appears to have been put on at the same time. Bottom drawer measures approx 9 3/8" x 8" x 3 3/8" deep. Bottom drawer has original lock(no key) and is lined with a silver color paper which appears to be very old. Which consists of a large dresser and a matching chest of drawers. The ... moreset is crafted from an unusual color of wood, which I think might be Pecan as it is lighter in color than most other woods and has a fine grain, somewhat similar to Walnut. The dresser has 8 full size drawers and three smaller drawers on the top. The middle drawer has only a key hole to open it while the others have matching drawer pulls. The drawers all feature dovetailed woodworking. The chest of drawers has 6 full size drawers with the top drawer featuring a lock(the key is included and taped inside of the top drawer and visible in one of the pictures) I'm uncertain if the one key works on both locks but I think they would as the key isn't a complicated design. Both pieces of furniture have glass tops that are in good shape. Both pieces feature designs created on the top by using different colored woods and grain patterns, giving a nice break from the solid color that the main furniture body has. The dresser's top left drawer features the Baker metal logo plaque on the inside. The furniture is in very nice shape but there are a few scratches and scuffs that need pointed out. There is a small square piece of veneer(about 1 inch square) that is missing along the bottom edge of the dresser, a little to the right of center. There are also a deeper scratch on the bottom right leg of the dresser and bottom left leg of the chest of drawers. These are shown in the photos. The furniture would benefit from a good cleaning and possible waxing.I'm not certain what type of cleaning or maintenance would be appropriate. Please look carefully at the photos to get a better idea of the true condition this nice old set is still in.I would guess this dates back to the 60s or early 70s. This is a beautiful antique English dresser from 1810-30. It is made of walnut with a Yew Wood veneer on the front. Yew wood was usually only used in smaller veneered pieces or as accents to other veneers. The piece has two smaller drawers over three large drawers. It has a Biedermeier look to it. But the owner brought it in from England some years ago.you decide. The brass hardware is very old, but probably not original to the piece. The insides of the drawers are painted with silver radiator paint to protect against worms. It is in excellent condition. Antique Victorian Drop Center Marble Top Dresser w/ Pivot Mirror
A very cute little dresser brought up from Georgia to the Asheville NC area 20 years ago. Judging from the style and the candle shelves on either side. Late 19th Century. Features the original marble. Clean and unbroken, the original antique mirror, all of the original drawer pulls of figured brass, and the original casters. Original finish- has not been stripped. Stands about 80 inches high and 16 inches deep- it is a smallish piece and stands nice and shallow out from the wall- perfect for a small guest room or an accent to a large room. I'm not certain. But the wood is probably walnut. The five drawers all work just fine and have unusual'round peg dovetailing' construction(shown above in a detail shot) The hardware is ALL original EXCEPT that the bolts that originally held the pivoting mirror have been replaced by heavy screws. ... moreWhich doesn't affect the look of it too much(and they could be fairly inexpensively restored with something vintage) The mirror section is removable to facilitate moving. A very handsome piece. With minimal scratches and wear. The hand-carved details are a bit on the rustic side and not terribly fussy or'polished' workmanship. Almost folk arty. It is a solid piece and nice and usable still, with a decidedly'country' feel to it. The piece is actually quite light once the drawers are pulled out for transport and is not too heavy to lift at all. I love the carved details and personality of the thing! Antique American Empire Flame Mahogany Dresser c. 1850s XLNT 6 Drawers
A very special piece! This flame mahogany American Empire-style dresser. Estimated to have been made in the 1850s, is gorgeous. The dresser's mirror-image crotch-grain mahogany is absolutely beautiful. A hallmark of quality in fine furniture construction. The curved front is lovely. As are the carved backboard and skirt. The finish on the front. Sides, and top is glossy; the back is unfinished. All six drawers work perfectly and are outfitted with mushroom-turned wooden knobs. My parents originally purchased this dresser from an antiques dealer in upstate New York and it's been in their smoke-free household for more than 50 years. No maker's mark is evident. It is in very good condition with some nicks. Scratches, etc. that are visible in photos. Gorgeous Original Vintage Renaissance Revival dresser late 1800's one-family Great-Grandma's dresser! From what we can learn. This is a Victorian Renaissance Revival substyle, informally appraised at $3,000, probably worth way more. We do know that this piece is all original, right down to its porcelain casters and ornate drawer-pulls. It hasn't been painted or stripped or refinished. Grandma got it from HER mother-in-law and kept it in her 8-bedroom house until she moved into an apartment. It then went home with my father and we had it in our home for the next generation and then some. Very loved and very seldom even used. What this dresser has seen! Grandma was a flapper(even owned a dance hall! and that likely explains the apparent damage-a possible cigarette burn on one of the little shelves. Nobody has smoked around it for ... moreabsolutely years. Actually we never even saw her smoke. We were told by the appraiser that the small shelves were once used for candles-before they had electricity. The wood is gorgeous. From the raised burl panels to the dark grained(probably walnut) sections. The marble tops are amazingly beautiful, as we've seen these in other dressers with chips and cracks, and these are HEAVY. And look at that crown on the top! Look at the hardware! We've appreciated the fact that. Although it is tall(just under 7 1/2 ft. to the top of her crown) the actual footprint of this dresser is fairly small at 20" X45" It seems to go everywhere. This piece was built with astonishing detail. It's possible that it could be actually pre 1900, but again, we don't know. Not antique dealers, just selling a family heirloom. You sure couldn't get anything new with this workmanship at this price. Please look carefully at the pictures and ask questions and for more pictures if needed. Antique Mahogany Bow Front 4-Drawer Dresser / Chest - Mid 19th C
Beautiful antique chest of drawers in mahogany with a gentle sweep of a bow front. All original. Including its finish, as I hope you see in my close-ups. It features four nice deep drawers, perfect for storage, and has the dust panels between each level. The top pair drawers' inside measurements are 15 1/2" across by 5 1/2" tall, and are 15" to 17" deep, given the curvature of the front. The middle drawer's inside measurements are 32 1/4" across by 7" tall and 14 1/4" to 16 1/4" deep. The bottom drawer's inside measurements are the same as the middle except it is a little deeper at 7 1/2" tall. Overall. The measurements of the chest are 35 1/4" tall by 34 3/4" across by 16 1/4" to 19 3/4" deep. All four drawers work perfectly and have hand-done dovetail joints. Approx 1860's Gentleman Dresser. Ornate carvings between the legs on the sides. The wood is in great shape. It does need tender loving care. There is another top drawer inside one of the large drawers. For being this old. This piece is in good shape. I love this piece, but can't keep everything. I am not sure of the wood but it is a very deep dark brown. The mirror has been replaced my me as I wanted to use this on my own antique dresser. The frame of the mirror. And stand are in very good estate condition. See images. I bought this from a dealer in the St Petersburg area of Florida. Their expert there told me this was from the late 1880s. This is an amazing three drawer dresser. Complete with marble top, grape leaf drawer pulls, and rolling casters for feet. The marble top is a languedoc stone that is found in France. It measures 48" x 22" x 1" The top is currently not mounted. This is how I discovered the piece and instead of re-mounting the marble. I would rather leave that option to the next owner. The body is made out of what I believe to be walnut. It measures 33 1/2" tall x 37 1/4" wide x 16 1/4" deep. This bureau belonged to my grandmother. Unfortunately. I do not have space for it any longer. I believe this is"Victorian Eastlake" It is in very good original condition with original hardware. Sold as is. No one has painted, refinished or otherwise tampered with it. There was never a mirror from the time my grandmother acquired it. Local pick-up only! Beautiful Handpainted Circa 1895 Cottage Tall Dresser Is Unique
Here is a beautiful and unusual handpainted cottage tall chest on castors. This is circa 1895. I love the black background with pink flowers like lilacs and roses on each drawer. The top mount, side posts and bottom crest. It has green trim borders along with gold borders as trim too. There are two smaller drawers over four deeper ones. It measures 62" high to the top of the two knobs. 43 1/4" wide and 22" deep. It is partially wrapped in shrink wrap since it was stored that way. I pulled it down for pictures but it keeps it protected and easier to move while in storage. It does have scratches and nicks from being over 100 years old as shown in the pictures. One leg was broken in the past but was professionally repaired and is hard to see. It was that way when I bought it years ago, I have moved twice since then and never had ... morea problem but do want to mention it. It has an untouched dry original red wash surface and the tiger maple is in a period amber finish. It is completely original and in untouched condition except for some back drawer stop blocks. This is a substantial chest with all the drawers working nicely that measures 48 1/2" long. 20 1/2" wide(deep) 39 1/2" tall at the chests top, 44" at the glove box deck and 49 1/2" tall at the top ... moreof its large back gallery.
