The drawers all open and close smoothly. The locks all work and the key is with the cabinet. This commode is in good antique condition with the following points of damage: 1) the marble top has a repair running front to back in the center and the marble has several chips on the edges(photos) 2) the mirror silvering is significantly streaked; 3) the bottoms of the back legs have been repaired(hardly visible) We have a good local resilvering shop and can have the mirrir re-done for you at cost if you desire. Up for consideration is a fine Swan Harped Quarter Cut Tiger Oak dresser. The dresser measures 75 1/4 inches high by 24 1/2 inches deep by 48 inches wide. The piece has all it's original hardware with brass bail handles.The highboy dresser measures 74 inches high by 24 inches deep by 36 inches wide. The mirror is fine condition. this is a good example of early to mid 19th century bonnett chest. It is in good condition with normal wear. Just small nick on its right side. Measures approx. 45 1/2 inches high. 32 1/2 inches wide and 17 1/2 inches deep. Originial wheels are on and included in size. I am not sure of wood but i think its oak or maple possibly. I believe it is empire style. It measures 8 1/2" wide by 8 3/3" high by 4" deep. drawers are all dovetailed by hand and square head nails used for the other parts. There is grooves on the top drawers where I believe there was a mirror at one time which has been long lost. It is missing one pull and I don't know if they are original. One leg is missing in the back. the piece does have a piece off of the front edge of the top. I believe it is the original finish with wear from the years. This is remarkable considering it's age. The dresser has 3 parts- the mirror assembly. The marble mid-section, and the oak base cabinet. The mirror is attached with 2 wooden rear slats which extend to the base cabinet& screws that hold it rigid. The marble rests on the base. It is solid and sturdy. It stands evenly on the floor. Mid 19th.c. oak North Wales dresser base. Three drawers across the top above two cupboard doors with a central bank of working drawers. Typical of the type produced on the island of Anglesey c.1850. The breakfront design, turned quarter columns, inlaid diamond escutcheons and shaped frieze by the feet are all original vernacular details. Antique French Breton walnut kitchen cupboard dresser A beautiful antique Breton dresser in dark walnut. Circa 1860. As you can see this is profusely carved piece with flower and leaf detailing and lots of turned spindles. This is a two piece dresser with two cupboard doors to the base with two drawers above. The upper section is a double door food cupboard with single shelf to the interior. The pierced sections have been later backed with yellow fabric to provide a pleasing contrast- we can remove this if preferred. A stunning piece providing useful storage in any room. Condition: I would describe this as being in good order for its age with minor marks. One turned acorn is missing. The key does not work. Fabulous early 19th century antique American cherry and tiger maple dresser with original Sandwich glass knobs. Dresser measures 39 1/2" across. 19 1/2" deep, and 45" tall. Drawers are constructed with fine dovetails. They all retain their original locks, but I don't have the key. There is writing inside the top of the dresser which I believe details the origin of the dresser. I can make out something that looks like"day before Christmas" and numbers, but I can't read most of it. A photo of the writing is shown in the next to the last photo above. 15 Brass Victorian Lion Head Drawer Pulls Dresser Hardware Ornate Gargoyle I.U.C
Found these in a box with a bunch of other brass and porcelain knobs. Not sure where they came from or what they were suppose to be used for but the box has been sitting here for years so out they go. There are 13 handles with the lions head up-right and 2 where he is upside down when the handle is in the correct position. Don't ask me what's up with that. There are a few spots where some green has attached itself but they are in good condition overall. The back of the lions head is embossed with I.U.C. DC-80947K and the back of the handle is embossed with I.U.C. DC-40322. Not sure how old these are but they look old. I don't have any screws for them. The holes are 2 3/4" on center. If you are looking for a smaller amount of these and these don't sell. early empire mahogany chest dresser turned columns very early period piece
for sale a very early empire chest of drawers or dresser. made of mahogany. this piece is as old as dirt. the drawer bottoms and the back of the chest is all hand chamfered. the joints are all hand cut dovetails. what few nails were used to stabilize the bottom of the drawers to the back are square nails. it features four drawers. None the same size. one large one on the top that is stepped out under which are situated two nicely spiral turned columns which come to rest on a platform that the turned front legs affix to. back legs are also turned. the feet or legs all have casters inserted in them. there is a molded trim along the bottom of the chest. it has a few minor dings here and there, none of which take away from its function or beauty plus there are a couple of small pieces of boards chipped out. they are all small and doubtful any ... morewill show in the pictures. it was faded and sun bleached when i dug it out of the barn. i cleaned it with new life and then rubbed a bit of stain on it and sprayed it with lacquer to dry the stain. i do not think it has ever been refinished. at any rate, it is a nice solid very old dresser. i am starting it for less than i paid years ago. 500 back then would make a pretty good down payment on a new car. it is a fairly large chest being 22.5 inches deep, 43 inches wide, and 48 inches tall. overall a very nice hand crafted empire chest made circa 1860. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyers expense. good luck.

I have Primitive Pine Small Dresser with very fine and thin dovetail construction of the drawers. The styling of the drawers is classic for such early American Antiques such as this. I bought this piece over 30 years ago from an antique dealer who dated it from the late 1800’s. Dresser is in good condition with desirable weathering. With knotty pine. It measures approx. 32 ½"h x 33”w x 16"deep and stands nicely on bun feet. It does have some staining on the top There are brass lock and keyholes on all the drawers. One of the small chests has some minor cracking in the side veneer. But we wouldn't recommend to touch it. Leave it as is, it's beautiful. In general, there may be minor wear to edging or drawers, but there is nothing major to fix. Everything has been used for many years but well taken care of. We cannot determine if the pieces are French or Swedish; it is possible(highly likely) that they are both. This was not a matched set; it is a coordinating set that works beautifully despite minor differences in color. As it was placed in the current estate where it sits. The pieces were used in different areas of the house, contributing to an overall style. We were asked to sell this entire grouping as a set. Very ornate carved wishbone mirror, fancy carved key escutcheons on the drawer fronts and the original wood pulls on the drawers with dove-tailed joinery on the drawer ends. This fine 19th century dresser measures 77 inches in height to the top of the carved crest on the mirror. Height to the marble at the front measures 33 3/4 inches, width measures 40 inches and depth front to back is 19 1/4 inches and this dresser weighs approximately 150 lbs. There is a HEAVY solid slab of beveled edged white marble that is 48" wide x 22" deep x 1" thick and does not just rest on top but sits in its own custom perfect fit carved edged seat. This piece of marble weighs about 100 lbs itself. The first drawer opens to a solid piece of burl or birdseye maple. That is a sign of quality as that was an expensive wood. The two drawer pulls in the top drawer are original. There are four larger pulls that were used in the two lower drawers but are missing pieces. I have purchased and installed four reproduction pulls and will include the pieces of the originals in case you ever want to try to locate matching one but even a nice set of Victorian Eastlake teardrop pulls that do come up often would work if you don't like these repros. Antique Country Empire Dresser
This is a beautiful antique solid cherry Country Empire Dresser. Circa 1840-1850's. It was refinished about 35 years ago and has been in my possession every since. It is very stable with some wear, mostly on the top(see pictures) and where the drawers have scraped away at the wood when opening and closing(see pics) The top may need to be refinished or touched up. Some of the knobs are loose and need to be glued and one of the locking mechanisms is off, but I have it. It measures 49 1/2H x 40 1/2W x 22D.
