I am hoping it can be refurbished or someone ... morecan use some of the parts for other projects. I didn't even try to clean it up-I didn't even know where to begin! 5 arm-this part is brass. But the cups where the bulbs go in are a lighter metal and are have varying degrees of rust. The column is also brass. Quite tarnished and seems to have some corrosion or pitting in spots. The fixture is missing the screws that connect the column to the 5 arm base. The chain is rusty as is the ceiling cover plate. It is wired with fabric covered wiring. All light sockets intact and has a plug at the end, Not sure if there are any breaks in wiring, would suggest total rewiring. The column is 10 1/2" long. The arm base is 15" diameter. The whole lamp. Not including the chain and ceiling cover is apx. 13" long. Selling in As IS condition. NOT an expert on these old lamps. So please forgive me if I have used incorrect terminology. This was found in an old barn. Estate sales at farms are my favorite, hands down. So many out-buildings that nothing ever gets thrown away. I have a set of the custard glass slip shades listed for sale and another set that I will list in the future. I had two of these lamps, but have sold the other one already. Maybe from the 1930's The mark used is c. 1914-1930's and can be found in the Dresden Porcelain Studios Book by Harrans. Page 180. Handmalerei is German for hand painted These great looking sconces have a very ornate design They're in working condition. But feel free to have them checked out by a professional for your own protection There are 2 cut out notches on the back of each sconce(see pic 20) so they can be hung on the wall. These are already wired to 10' cords with plugs on the ends to be plugged right in the wall or the cords removed and hard wired right to the wall These wall sconces are in really good condition for their age. But there are a couple minor ... moreissues to mention Unfortunately there is 1 repair on one of the sconces near the top(see pics 20-21) it is hardly noticeable and there is also part of the green leaf missing in that same pic#20 In the last two pics there's part of a flower petal missing on 1 flower in each pic. Again they'll never be noticed unless you know they're there The arms on these sconces are all plastered into place. But they are all a little loose and wiggle a little bit from them being picked up by the arms. It does not compromise them in any way and are still firmly in place. But should be handled with care and NOT be picked up by the arms but by the back plate to ensure the arms are not pulled out of the sockets These large pieces measure approximately 15.5" in height x 10.5" in width x 7.25" deep These are a great pair of sconces and I've seen them priced nearly $1000 a pair in mint condition. Albion Antiek Antique Bell Jar Lantern 19th. Century Purple Glass Lamp- Rare Color This listing is for a beautiful original antique early 19th century glass bell jar lantern lamp. This lantern comes with its smoke shield and is a beautiful very dark purple amethyst color(the lid is lighter in color but I do believe it is the original smoke shield for this lantern) It retains its original brass fittings and chain. The shield measures 10-3/8" across and the bell jar measures 9-5/8" high and 8-1/2" across. Condition is good. There are manufacturing flaws and irregularities in the glass(air bubbles and lines and folds in the glass on the lid. These are not cracks or damages but happened in the making) The glass has a few air bubbles that were broken through on the surface but there are no chips or cracks and no repairs. There is ... morejust the usual chipping along the opening hole in the lid where the chain comes through(that is normal for this type of lamp) One of the peacock heads has lost its little clip that folds over the bell jar edge(see pictures) but that does not compromise the stability or ability to safely hang this lamp. A product by the famous Porcelier Co.The porcelain canopy measures 6' at it's widest point, the base and is 6 3/4 in length. The color is antique white/off white. Notice the lovely detailing ... moreon the glass shade. The glass shade measures 10 1/4" at it's widest point. The light fixture has a drop from the ceiling, when installed. Remarkable, this finish is so nice. No cracks of any kind. This is a three(3) standard bulb light fixture. The light sockets are porcelain. Original to the fixture. It is important they stay with this piece. They are in excellent working order, as they very high quality. The wire is original and in very good/excellent condition. When possible, like this one, the original wire should be left. It has greater antique value when left. This light fixture is in excellent working order. The feed wire only, has been repplaced.
