Hollywood Regency / Art Deco Black & Silver Chandelier Vintage Lighting Fixture
We recently went to an auction that had great 1880s-1930s lighting fixtures. Lamps, etc. We know that some of them came from west central Ohio homes that were built during Ohio's railroad boom(most people don't think of Midwest railroad barons, but we had'em) We'll be listing these over the next couple of weeks. This black and silver chandelier is Hollywood Regency by way of Art Deco. It's footprint isn't large. So it won't overwhelm a room, but it will be a focal point. The fixture's about 12" in diameter. It hangs down about 27. Great size for dining areas. Living rooms, salons. The chain has a lovely symmetrical/asymmetrical interlude of flowers within an oval. Please see the pictures. It has a gorgeous cream colored column AND ceiling cap made of porcelain that is beautifully painted with floral motif and accented with gold.This was made by the famous Porcelier Company and it's rare to find the chandelier body and ceiling cap together. And in such fine condition. It is paired with this very nice, pale, sort of creamy beige-ish pink glass shade that is ribbed and scalloped and has no damage at all as far as chips. Antique Art Deco Skyscraper Light Fixture - Milk Glass - Vintage Chandelier
Available here is an antique art deco light fixture. It has a beautiful skyscraper style milk glass shade. The shade is in good condition with no chips or cracks. It has a 6" fitter. The shade only stands approximately 11.5" tall and is approximately 12" across at its widest. The fixture looks to be brass and has been partially painted over. I am not sure of the best way to remove the paint and will let the new owner decide what to do. It has the original socket and cloth wrapped wiring. I have not tested it and would recommend rewiring it for safety. Rewiring this would be pretty simple since it is a single socket. When hung. Appears to be original finish. The measurement along the bottom is just over 2 1/2" and widens off to approx. 5" From the base to the top of the inside opening. Circa 1920-1930, but please make up your own mind about this. The light measures approx 10 inches(250mm) tall by 5 inches(125mm) in diameter. It is modeled as an inverted flame. Mounted in a painted brass holder, and is in good condition with no chips or cracks to the glass. The bulb holder is a standard UK bayonet clip type. It is in good original condition with very light wear consistent with its great age. But no damage or repairs. This is a fine example of its type and it would make a beautiful decorative piece. We deal in a lot of lighting. But this is one of the most exceptional fixtures I've ever seen. The fixture looks like iron with a copper or brass inlay. It has some paint on it, but much of it is worn off. It's an extremely well made fixture, the quality is excellent. It weighs about 12 pounds. It's in excellent working condition and appears to have newer wiring. The fixture is very primitive in that it's not perfectly"true" One of the arms is slightly bent, there are some screws loose, the trays below the candelabras are moveable. None of this affects the use of the light. One of the candle holders has a chip in it. The fixture ... morehas an aged, vintage patina. There are certain areas(like around the lights and near canopy) that appear rusty but it's not rust; it's part of the copper/brass inlay. Please use zoom feature to see details in all photos. It has a pendulum that swings from the bottom. The design on it is reminiscent of an old renaissance/medieval church or the Spanish Revival. I have a second matching fixture if you need 2 of these. This has normal wear to the finish you would expect but it is mostly on the bottom round disc and the price is greatly discounted so you can have it copper plated or painted or leave it as is. As you can see it is working. These are normally found installed in Banks and Upscale Homes. The FRAGILE Glass Shade has an alabaster appearance with a filigree banding surrounding the top edge. It's just beautiful to see in person. And this is a signature of a high end Gill MFG light. The shade is held to the fixture by three adjustable chains which are attached to a metal shade below the glass shade. The fixture has a aged copper finish and features fluted column sides. When Lit. This is a beautiful true vintage chandelier. 15.5" diameter roughly 16" tall 9" chain to the ceiling mounting cap peach like painted finish on glass shade original wiring 3 lights I used too large of Watts for the photo to pick up color. Simply beautiful I did not see any chips.Hard to believe for its age! It is VERY heavy! There is a tiny bit of paint splatter on the inside of light shade quite a bit of paint on the ceiling cap no mounting plate all 3 light sockets work No chips or flea bits on the tall inner glass pieces either! 1920's 1930's Brass Art Deco Hanging Chandelier Ceiling Light Fixture Vintage Hanging Light Fixture Up for sale we have this very sweet hanging light fixture maybe from the 1920's or 1930's This very ornate 6-lite light fixture is made of solid brass and is in good condition with normal wear This piece was in really bad condition in appearance so we decided to clean it up and give it a brand new look and it came out wonderful There's 2 minor issues.the hole for the small screw that keeps the ceiling cap in place on the metal tube near the top is stripped and will need a slightly larger screw and one of the screw holes that hold the shade on appears to be cross-threaded.other than that there's nothing else wrong The shades are not the original shades for this piece and one shade is slightly different. The ruffled rim ... moreis not cut as deep as the rest. One shade does have a small crack in it. These shades are not old and are common and were put on here to finish the look. Your buying the fixture and the shades are coming with it for FREE and are not guaranteed perfect or the cracked shade to arrive safely It measures approximately 24" in diameter with the shades on. The length is about 38" to the end of the shades It has been rewired and is in great working condition. Here you will find a gorgeous Vintage French Chandelier. That is what I call'Re-invented vintage' where I take an already great light and recreate it into an even more beautiful working piece of art. In this case the heavy metal filigree frame is the vintage part, all the beading, prisms etc. has been added and is not original to this light. It is a one of a kind and would look great with Art Deco, Nouveau, Victorian, Asian, or Gothic decor. It has a very expensive, dramatic look that captivates that glorious era. I have shown it on and off and also with a dimmer that displays it at its best. It is 29 inches from top finial to bottom tassel and just shy of 20 inches wide. The Chase Era; 1988 Chase Catalogs: 1934 and 1935; 1999 Chase Complete: Deco Specialties of the Chase Brass and Copper Co. 1999 1930's Lighting: Deco and Traditional by Chase; 2000 Chase Era: 1933 and 1942 Catalogs of the Chase Brass and Copper Co. 2001 This chandelier is. As is typical for Chase, beautifully made, heavy, and of the highest quality. There are two curious historical details. I have a 1937 Chase catalog with the chandelier pictured. But the finish is only offered as“weathered brass” or“pewter and gold” This chandelier is black. And there can be no doubt that the color is original. Also, the shades are different than those shown in the catalog. They are very similar and each features grape clusters and leaves. But the catalog shades are more overtly“colonial” in style, while the ones shown here are more 1930s streamlined.
