This nice period lamp dates ca. 1900-1915 and manufactured in an era when they could be“wired” for either gas or electricity. It measures 24” tall(16” to the top of the socket) and sports an original 8” x 35” square shade having solid brass riveted frame with steel under structure. The textured opalescent slag glass is all original with no cracks. But a tiny corner loss as photographed. The base is brass plated cast iron with minor rust and it is very dirty and attic fresh. The owner thought it should be re-wired for sale, so that has been done. Vintage Slag Glass Lamp Shade with Winged Griffins Shown is a vintage caramel slag glass lamp shade with a very sturdy and ornate metal(lead) frame that features winged griffins. The frame has no breaks and no repairs and comes to you with its original untouched brass/gilded finish and aged patina. The shade measures 13 inches wide at the bottom(corner to corner) and 4 inches wide at the top and stands 7 inches tall. The 6 panels measure 6 inches at the bottom and 2 inches at the top. The glass panels are all in good condition with no cracks and no chips.

Antique Arts& Crafts. Art Nouveau Brass Overlay Slag Glass Desk Lamp. Fresh from a local Jersey Shore estate. Original untouched condition. The lamp is 14.5" tall. The Bryant socket is patent dated 1907 with a bakelite switch marked Perkins. Simple brass base with iron harp. Original green felt on iron weighted bottom. Brass shade with cut out Art Nouveau designs backed with original slag glass panels and brass bullet finial. The socket and switch appear to be in working order and the wiring and plug appear to be in good condition but you should probably have the lamp rewired to be on the safe side. The lamp was very dirty when I found it. I gave it a superficial cleaning but that is all. The brass looks like it would polish up nicely if you were so inclined. That is a decision I will leave to the buyer. SHI at cost. No Reserve.

NICE ART AND CRAFTS SLAG GLASS GOTHIC HANGING PORCH LIGHT
This auction is for a neat Art and Crafts period Gothic style hanging porch light. It has 8 slag glass and amber glass panels. The light has a great look but has a few minor losses that are not too noticable. Especially if it is hanging. First it is missing two decorative finials, one on one top corner and one on the bottom. One amber glass panel has some light crackling to the glass. It is not broken through and the glass is in tact. It is also missing the piece that would cover the wiring where it gos into the ceiling. There is some light paint loss to the metal but it only serves to give the light character. Rare Mid Century Arts & Crafts Eames Era Art Deco Square Slag Glass Bowl 40s 50
This outstanding American Made square bowl is in very nice condition. There are no chips or cracks however the scallop edging feels rough along the outside of the bowl. There is what I will call a small open vein of greyish color along the top that is clearly seen in the last photo. I don't think it's a crack but. it could be. I am not a collector and this is just my non professional opinion. This bowl measures about 6.5 inches long 2.75 inches high and just about 4 inches from front to back. It's thick and heavy and the swirling colors are very warm and inviting. I know this is old because I remember it from when I was a young child mom kept her bobby pins in it. I'm in my 60s. The solid bronze piece has a green verde finish. Dark walnut(veneer) base, and the slag glass is a dark cream and caramel color. There is an old piece of blotting paper on. It is not marked. MI Collection, the family retired to the Florida Gulf Coast. Item is unsigned and as of yet unidentified as to manufacturer. Measurements: Overall Height to Top of Finial: 20 1/4 inches. Shade: 16 inches wide across points between panels. 14 3/4 inches wide from flat panel to flat panel. 7 inches high to top of central finial surround ring. 6 1/2 inches high to brass exterior tops of panel sections. Base: 20 inches high to top of screw threads. 13 3/4 inches high to top of column just below start of twin socket fixture. 8 3/8 inch diameter. Condition: Very sound generally quite nice as discovered estate condition with no shade cracks or brass overlay breaks. ... moreTwo panels are more caramel than the other six so we assume old replacements. Other issue with this lamp is that it has been converted from a central drop pull chain model to strictly a base button both lights at once on/off configuration. The cord exits through the top surface of the base through an ungrommetted hole. We are not sure if this hole was added or simply has lost its grommet. Cord is an old circa post-WWII 50s 60s or 70s era rewire with visible taping underneath. Patina appears to be an older polishing of about the same era as the cord rewiring and panel replacements. Retains pull chain circular flared surround that is well above the line of the shade so as not to notice it no longer holds a chain. This is a nice period Miller slag glass lamp with floral overlay. The lamp has it's original patina with some age appropriate wear but look very nice overall. The carmelized bent glass is beautiful when lit. There are no cracks or broken panes however we do believe one pane may have been professionally replaced at some point due to a very slight difference in color. This is hard to notice but we want to be very precise in our description. The lmap has been re-wired at some pont and nice Leviton sockets added. They are reproduction types and with a bit or aging will look right at home on this beautiful lamp. Looks as through the original pulls were used with the new sockets. This has a wonderful inverted heart filigree design and a warm amber slag glass. It is ALL ORIGINAL and in very nice condition. The lamp is an excellent medium size. Perfect for any room. It measures 24" high, 12" per side, and the base is 5.5" across. It takes one normal size light bulb. There are a few minor condition issues that are only noticeable on close inspection. Once of the corners of the slag glass has a crack. But is mostly behind the filigree and can not really be seen. Also, on one side the filigree is slightly separated along the center seam. Finally this has the original wiring which works fine but the fabric is frayed on one section. Please see pictures for details of condition.

THEY WERE FOUND IN THE OLD BUILDING. THAT WAS A FORMER DANCE HALL AND GAME CLUB IN DOWNTOWN HONOLULU. ONCE I SAW THEM I WAS IMMEDIATELY STUNNED BY THEIR APPEARANCE AND STARTED TO GATHER AS MUCH INFO ON THEM AS I POSSIBLY COULD RIGHT THERE ON THE SPOT USING MY COMPUTER BEFORE EVEN MAKING AN OFFER I ALREADY KNEW THAT THEY WERE PROBABLY CHINESE. I ASKED THE CURATOR OF THE BUILDING FOR HIS PERMISSION TO DETACH ONE OF THEM FROM IT'S BASE TO LOOK FOR A POSSIBLE MAKERS MARK. BUT GOT A DEFINITE"NO" FROM HIM AND WAS ASKED TO COME UP WITH THE OFFER OR LEAVE. SO. AFTER THE FIERCE NEGOTIATION I WAS THE OWNER OF A VERY STRANGE LOOKING AND HEAVY LAMPS THAT WERE SO DIRTY ... moreTHAT I HAD TO WRAP THEM UP IN A PAIR OF BEACH TOWELS THAT WERE LATER PRONOUNCED UN WASHABLE BY THE HOTEL PERSONNEL WHERE I STAYED. DURING THIS PROCEDURE I DID FIND THE MANUFACTURERS MARKS AND CAN STATE NOW THAT THE PORCELAIN MONKEY FIGURINES WERE IN FACT MADE IN CHINA DURING THE LATE 20'S AND EARLY 30'S TOGETHER WITH THE SOFT WOOD BASES. THE SLAG GLASS SHADES AND ALL METAL HARDWARE AND WIRING WERE DONE IN THE US PRE WAR. WHICH WAS THE COMMON PRACTICE BACK IN THE DAY. THE LAMPS ARE IN A GREAT CONDITION WITH NO CHIPS CRACKS OR REPAIRS TO PORCELAIN AND GLASS. ONLY SOME NORMAL WARE TO METAL. PAINT AND SOME MINOR MANUFACTURER IMPERFECTIONS IN PORCELAIN SUCH AS UNDER GLAZING AND VERY SMALL PITTING DURING THE MAKING PROCESS. Arts Crafts Slag Glass Pottery Base Table Lamp Art
This lamp measures: 19.5" across largest part of shade. 7" across at the base and 23.5" tall. I find no mark of any kind. I believe that the base is pottery. Possibly redware. It is not metal. It has a faux hammered look with arts and crafts flowers. No damage to the base. The metalwork on the shade repeats the pattern on the base. There are no breaks in the metal or cracks in the glass panels. I would guess that it is a white metal. Original finial. There is some corrosion or oxidation around the finial.
