The pear shaped gilt frame is covered in leaves and accented wonderfully with white drops. The contrast of gold and white is very elegant. It has the original chain and ceiling canopy and takes US/Canada standard candelabra bulb as I have added an adapter. You can also use E-14 European base bulbs by removing the adapter. In perfect condition. There are no chips or cracks although there is some light nibbling around the top edge which is totally concealed by the fitting. This antique French opaline chandelier has six lights. It is circa 1920. I believe the metal structure to be bronze with a wonderful warm brown patina. As you can see in the photos there are numerous white opaline drops(approx 4 inches long) There are many opaline bead swags going vertically and also horizontally between the arms. The bobeches housing the lights are also white opaline glass. The chain is 13 inches long. The fixture is 20 inches long by 24 inches wide. In good working order as the photo of the chandelier hanging in my dining room depicts. Please study the photos carefully. They are part of the description. THIS IS A MAGNIFICENT.
