However, a study of lights of this era reveals a very particular aesthetic. I can only assume that the men and women who created magnificent pre-war lighting fixtures were still around after the war. Imbedded within their experience was an artistic ability and color sense that was soon to vanish. What I find so attractive about this Era-That-Has-No-Name is the fascinating combination of the past and future. The future is represented by the basic design of 1940s fixtures; they don’t really look like pre-war fixtures. The past is rich colors and lush details. This is a 1940's Ceiling Fixture by Globe that has a Frosted Glass Reverse painted Shade with Floral Design. Done with Beautiful Bright Colors. It has a Silver Plated metal top with Clear Lucite Scrolls on the top as well. The outside Rim is Pierced Brass. Measures aprox 8 1/2" tall. 16" diameter glass and 6 1/4" diameter base. Has the Original GLOBE Lighting Products Co Label. It is in Good Vintage condition with some minor scratches and scuffs all around. Some wear and tarnishing to the Silver plated top, no Breaks or Cracks to the Glass shade, some minor chipping around the hole where the bolt sits, but this is normal for all Vintage glass shades. The Clear Lucite Scrolls are still intact and they have no Breaks ... moreor Cracks. Please note that this is Very Old and I have done nothing to restore this piece. It is being sold AS FOUND. The wiring is very old and I did not test this at all for functionality. It will need to be Hard wired and for safety, I would have it rewired. If you have an older home. MID-CENTURY MODERN EJS LIGHTING GLASS GLOBE CEILING CHANDELIER & WALL SCONCE SET
From EJS Lighting of Compton. California, this matching light set includes a five-arm chandelier ceiling fixture and a pair of wall sconces. All pieces have the same brushed aluminum bodies finished in an antique brass. They are also equipped with matching 6-inch clear glass globe shades. The chandelier holds standard bulbs under the glass globes, and there are hidden appliance bulbs that downlight through the bases of the tubes. A 3-way switch near the base of the center cylinder allows you to toggle between upper lights. lower lights, all on, or all off. For this reason, you can convert this fixture to a plug-in swag lamp, though a length of chain and original ceiling cap are included for hardwiring to a ceiling junction box. The assembled lamp measures approximately 22 inches across and 13 inches in height. It hangs 34 inches down from ... morethe ceiling, but the chain links can be removed to shorten it. There is some rust and soptting on the upper parts of the thin horizontal arms, but the lamp is very clean and overall still in very good shape. The wall sconces have bases measuring 6 inches x 4.25 inches. They show slightly more wear(I think they were used as front porch lights) but are also very clean and have no serious cosmetic flaws. All seven glass globes are in great shape and are not cracked, chipped or etched. All wiring is original, but is fully tested and working. No mounting screws are included. The glass shade is 4 1/2" tall and 22" around the widest part of the globe. There is some paint on the globe and on the brass that should be able to be cleaned off. The inside of the brass has some rusting and old wires attached. It's a beautiful piece. Buyer is responsible to pay shipping. Shipping is $8.00 for buyers who live in the United States. 5 clear ribbed glass replacement shades for a ceiling fan. Vanity lighting, floor lamp etc. The edges are frosted w/ a floral theme 1- 1 1/2" WIDE-EDGES ARE SCALLOPED. OUTER OPENING IS 6 1/8" IN DIAMETER AND THE FITTER OPENING IS 2" THE HEIGHT IS 3 7/8" A couple of them have a small chip on the fitter edge but they are in good used condition. This is a vintage white glass SHADE It measures about 6" tall by about 8 1/2" in diameter and has a rim opening measuring 3 3/4" outside dimensions.this lip goes slightly"inward" from the 3 3/4" for attaching to the light fixture with them screw.
