Pair Art Deco Slip Shades Batwing for Sconces Chandelier Beautiful No Reserve
Here a pair of vintage art deco or art nouveau slipper shades in very nice condition. No cracks or chips. Just some tiny"flea bites" on the mounting edges. They are 4 1/2 inches across at the widest point, which is from tab to tab. Looks like 6 3/8 inches from the start/top of one of the tabs to the bottom of the shade. Overall length is 8 1/2 inches, and it would protrude from the fixture at just under 4 inches. The glass is frosted and is very thick and substantial. If I can answer any questions, let me know. Vtg 1930 Art Deco Hanging Ceiling 7-Light Fixture Chandelier Batwing Slip Shades
Vintage Art Deco Ceiling Light This is a gorgeous vintage. Art Deco ceiling light. I have been unable to find a makers mark on this piece, but it resembles JC Virden or the Markel Princess light fixture. It is composed of cast metal with a gold or bronze-tone finish. There is some lovely decorative coloring on the fixture, highlighting the design. The fixture holds 7 standard light bulbs. The finial is the on/off switch. Which I think is a rather fantastic feature. It has a 4-way switch- 1 click turns on all 7 lights, 2 clicks turns on the bottom two lights, where the main globe sits, 3 clicks turns on the top 5 lights, which sit behid the slip shades, and a 4th click turns all of the lights off. The fixture measures approximately 19" at the widest point(from the top of one slip shade to the top of another) It would hang down appoximately ... more16" from the ceiling. Each slip shade measures approximately 7 3/4" long by 4 3/4" wide. This is in great condition overall with some general signs of age or use. There are several spots of wear to the finish. As well as some spots that look like tarnish. The shades have minor finish wear, as well as some tiny and rather insignificant chips or flea bites along the edges. None of these would be visible with the shades in place. There may be additional small scratches or spots of wear, but I see nothing of great significance to report. This listing is for a six light Batwing slip shade chandelier that was made in the late 1920`s or 1930`s by Midwest Mfg. This fixture has been completely restored by a qualified lampsmith. The fixture was painted with an antique bronze lacquer, the details have been hand painted ... moreand then it was sealed with a clear coat. It measures approximately 20 inches across with the shades installed and the drop has been set at 32 inches, chain links can be added or removed to suit your needs. Have short ceilings? No problem, I can convert this to a semi-flush mount fixture. The chain is new brass plated steel and is an exact match to the original, the new pendant stem is solid brass and is also an exact match to the original. All brass parts have been polished and are shiny, this chandelier has been restored to new condition. The fixture has received new UL approved sockets, new wiring and a new three way switch. The three way switch allows you to turn on all of the lights, just the bottom light or just the 5 outer lights. A new crossbar and mounting screws are included plus it comes with a ground wire, it is ready for immediate installation by your electrician. Painted Floral Accents-Luminous Light-Works Perfectly! This beautiful light fixture dates from the 1930s and is in remarkably nice condition. Clean and ready to hang. It's all original.the paint, the metal, the shades, etc, and works perfectly. The body of the light is pale cream and antique metallic gold with pink, blue, yellow, and green air brush painted flowers. The shades are thick glass that's been painted cream with airbru shed peachy-carmel accents on the inside. Leaving a 1/4" thick layer of clear, slightly iridescent glass to the outside.so pretty. As pictured. It hangs 30" down from the ceiling and is 20" wide. There is an adjustable ... morepole on the top that can be lowered further out of the ceiling cap. There is a 3-way switch giving you the option to have all lights on, all off, just the center on, or just the outer 5 lights on. As stated. The condition is very nice. There are a few light scuffs in the paint upon close examination, but nothing significant or overly distracting, with the exception of the scuffs on the ceiling cap(see pics) There is also some finish loss to a few links of the chain. Two of the five batwing shades were broken and repaired. The repairs appear stable, an d they are certainly usable. The last three pictures show the two damaged shades: 2 pictures of each shade lit; and a 3rd pic showing- Left: break down center and side. Center: undamaged shade for comparison, Right: break down center. All of the shades can be replaced, but I thought I'd leave that decision up the the new owner. This beautiful light can sell upwards of a thousand dollars, but because of the two shades I'm offering it as a no reserve auction with a lower starting price.
