ABOUT THE LENGTH: The fixture is now 30-inches long. I can remove about 18-inches of chain if you need it shorter. If you need the fixture longer please contact me. This fixture is ideal for most home styles built before 1930. Wholly restored and with new wiring. This fixture is ready to hang, and comes with all the mounting hardware needed! DETAILS: The fixture accepts standard base 60W bulbs. The ball finial looks like someone used a vise-grip on it at some point. Closer inspection reveals this to be a manufacturing irregularity. This is hard to see way up on the ceiling. The patina may in fact be an original oil-rubbed finish. COLOR: Brass with bronze-like patina. SIZE: The fixture hangs down 30-inches. You have the chance to purchase a Holophane remote ballast. Indoor, high pressure sodium metal halide mercury. The items are used, came out of a local church that has changed its lighting. The ballasts were kept in an indoor, closed but ventilated area. There are no lids, just what you see in the pictures. Model is believed to start with RBI400, since I do not have the lid, I do not know for sure. These are for indoor use only. For your consideration 16 Holophane S540 industrial/commercial ceiling lights. Complete with the original steel hour-glass-form ceiling canopy. Beautiful period high-ceiling lighting using clear 150 watt bulbs. For use commercially or residentially. Also convertible to hanging pendant style light. FYI: Three out of the sixteen 6" bottom disks are missing(example in the photos) I haven't looked for replacements but would image they are out there and easily attainable. The fixtures are in excellent condition with no breakage or cracking just dusty. The quality of the paint on each of steel canopies varies depending on how often it was painted since the 1940's-50's. Each fixture measures 12" tall by 15" in diameter. The fitter is a 4" diameter and the ceiling canopy has a 5-1/4" diameter. The canopy is 5-1/2" ... moretall and is two wire with a single porcelain socket. Each fixture weighs about 15 pounds. Please look at all the pictures they are part of the description. This is a smaller shade. It measures about 17 inches tall. And 15 inches in diameter across the middle. I have the larger version of this same shade if you are interested. The metal top part is in good. Clean condition, the hardware, clamps, latches are all solid and secure. They hold the shade tightly. Vintage Holophane Industrial Lighting 17" Light Covers for Large Lamp
I was fortunate enough to come across these Holophane covers that have been stored in a barn for many years. They measure 17" across. And have heavy clear glass in the center. All of the glass is intact and in great condition. They are marked Holophane DIV J-M No GS173. I do not know much about these covers, other than the lights must have been very large. They were possibly used for a barn or factory. These covers would be great for repurpose projects.

These are the same as the Holophane 685 These were in my office for 25 years lighting our open space and were taken down when we did a remodel. All of the sockets(Mogel) have been replace and are brand new and fixtures have been thoroughly cleaned. A few fixtures have some blemishes but would be virtually unnoticeable when mounted at the appropriate height. All glass is in excellent condition.
