This was an award from a New York Country Club, the brandy warmer engraving Says" Glenn Head C.C. 1961, Weeper tournament Class C, Samuel Feldman. This is a footed Brandy warmer with wooden handle and matching under plate. The Brandy Warmer measures 3 1/4" high by 3 1/8" in Diameter, and the under plate is about 5 5/8" in diameter. the under plate weighs 84 grams, the warmer weighs 145.7 grams, and together they weigh 229.6 grams. For your consideration is an elegant and unusual antique sterling silver brandy-warmer or sauce-pan made by the celebrated Emile Puiforcat. Adorned with irises. Delicate beading and foliage, the exquisite outer-portion of the pan is stamped with the french minerva premier titre hallmark, indicating a fineness of 950/1000 parts silver. The second hallmark we see is that of Emile Puiforcat, master silversmith who founded la maison Puiforcat of Paris in 1820 with brother, Joseph-Marie Puiforcat and cousin, Jean-Baptiste Fuchs. The removable inner-portion of the pan is stamed with a crab hallmark(minimum 800/1000 parts silver) and another maker's mark(HM) Diameter of the pan is 6.5 cm and total length is 16 cm. Weighs 101.1 grams. Condition is very good; we see some scratching to the handle(no monogram. By the way) but the pan is still gorgeous ... moredespite its age, as can be seen in the photos. Rare Georgian Sterling Brandy Warmer This is a wonderful antique English sterling silver brandy warmer that dates to 1810. This Georgian period piece has a turned wood handle. The lid is removable. And the spout cover on the lid flips up and down. This brandy warmer was made by Rebecca Emes(or Eames) and Edward Barnard. This partnership was part of the oldest silversmith business in history. It started with Anthony Nelme in 1680 and continues to this day as Edward Barnard& Sons. The other hallmarks date the pot to 1810(London) During the reign of King George III. There are matching hallmarks on both the main warmer and the lid, with the same date letter for 1810(letter"P" The sterling lion passant mark is on the warmer, the lid and the spout cover. Superb English Antique Sterling Silver 2 handled Punch Taster, or Brandy Sipper
Very attractive. Sterling silver two-handled brandy snifter, or wine dish. These are very rare and were sometimes called wine tasters, although they may be used more for Punch or Brandy. Weight is 52 grams. Lengthwise the Bowl, including the two spouts is 10 cms; from one handle to the other 9 cms. Height is 3.5 cms to the top of the bowl; 4 cms to the top of the handles. There are traces of gilding on the inside so this could be a Punch taster. Please read the condition report. There is a very small solder patch to the center of one of the rosettes on the side. It is visible under a loup but otherwise difficult to see. From the inside it is very difficult to see but there may be a small crease. I am not sure when this was repaired. It also seems possible that a crest, or marriage monograms, were removed from the cartouche as there are some ... moresmall dents(see photographs) Two handled vessels, like this, may have been used for marriage gifts(see Great British Wine Accessories by Robin Butler, Page 273 for a two handled example) The coin is dated 1787 and looks to be in good condition with fine detail.
