RARE STERLING SILVER 'CEMENTS FRIENDSHIP' TROWEL BOOKMARK ANTIQUE 1910
A very unusual sterling silver and mother of pearl bookmark. It is hallmarked for Sheffield 1910 with the makers marks being Walker and Hall. It has been beautifully designed in the form of a trowel with mother of pearl handle. Most interesting the handle bears an inscription which reads‘ CEMENTS FRIENDSHIP’ there are also the letters‘IIC’ I do not know what this refers to. It is in perfect condition with the silver being free from dings splits distortions and repairs and the mother of pearl being free from chips cracks and repairs. It measures a touch over 3 inches(8cms) long and weighs 5 grams. A rare example in the condition collectors’ desire. Antique hallmarked Silver Trowel Bookmark This beautiful little bookmark is made from sterling silver in the form or a trowel with the handled decorated with scrolling foliage. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1901 with the maker’s mark of Crisford& Norris. This piece is in very good condition with no damage that I can find and the inner blade is virtually level with the outer. Please be aware that it is 113 years old so there will be tiny surface abrasions caused through use.
