Wonderful Vintage Sterling Silver Toothpick Holder. Manufactured by the M. Fred Hirsch Co. in business from 1920-1945 out of Jersey City. NJ. Stamped with the M. Fred Hirsch Co. hallmark STERLING and the numbers 6018. It has no monogram and it is solid sterling silver(NO weighted bottom) Nice coloration and detail. Urn style. Weighs 61.8 grams. Measures 2-1/2" wide at top diameter by 2-3/4" tall. Handle to handle about 3" Nice detail on rim, handles and base. Has not been cleaned or polished. Great piece.

A really interesting piece. A sterling silver and cobalt glass container that I believe to have been made as a toothpick holder(too small to have been a salt or pepper shaker) It was made in 1837 by the Thomas Dicks company of London, England. It's in amazing condition for its age, with minimal noticeable wear or tarnish- and what's there is mostly on the inside. Measures 3" tall and 1" in diameter. Antique Sterling Silver Toothpick Case/Holder - Victorian?
I found this in a box with some of my grandparents' old things. They were born in 1899 and 1905. I gather it's a toothpick holder. Since I can't think of anything else it might be used for. I'm no expert- this is purely speculation- but judging from the decoration, it looks Victorian to me, and I know they did have some of their parents' things. There's a tiny bit of denting to the lip edge on one side that keeps it from closing tightly, but the hinge is good and snug. On the inside lip, it's stamped"STERLING" on both sides, but the word is spelled backwards for some reason. It measures 2 1/4 by 1 inch.

Up for bid is this 6" ANTIQUE BRAZILIAN STERLING SILVER TOOTHPICK HOLDER. The figurine is about 6" tall and is about 2" across the square base. The figurine is dressed in medieval clothes and looks like some kind of medieval explorer. He has a feathered cap. Long stockings, fluffy dress type shorts and shirt. He has one hand on what looks to be a knife and the the other hand is up in the air. This hand used to hold an umbrella that would hold toothpicks. The umbrella has broken off and is gone now. A complete brazilian toothpick holder sold at Christys. Search"Christies brazilian silver toothpick holder lot 156" The details on the clothes are amazing, on his shirt and sleeves you can the crisscross of the material. He is standing on a pedisal with leaves and detailed design. On the four corners of the base are lion ... moreclaw and ball legs. They all have been bent flat over the years and go straight out from the sides. On the base are two hallmarks, one looks to be"C&C" inside of a diamond. It does have wear, it may be"G&G" or"G&C" I do not know for sure. The other hall mark is the number"10" inside of a square. It is not marked sterling but it was tested and did test as sterling. The base is hallow on the inside(pic) The figurine weights about 7oz. When you look at him from the sides(pic) he has quite the tilt backwards. Even if the claw legs were not bent he would still tilt. He is very solid so it looks like he was made with the tilt, he looks normal from the front and back. He is really a one of a kind figurine. Not sure of an exact date. In good condition with minimal wear and tarnish except for a small dent or 2 in the base. Measures 2.5" in diameter and 2.75" in height and weighs 50 grams. Here are 3 sterling silver hollowware toothpick holders by Revere Silver. The bottoms are lightly weighted. These weigh from 58 to 60 grams each. Each measure 2-3/4" tall and are 2-5/8" in diameter across the top. One has a very shallow slight dent to the side and one has a tiny dent to the rim of the base and one on the bottom of the base. Up for offer we have two vintage sterling silver toothpick urns. They each measure approx. 2 5/8" tall. 2.5" across the top. Marked with and the word sterling. The mark stands for Mueck-Carey Co. circa 1940's-1950's. Both are in good vintage condition. They are not perfect-there are some small dings/dents in them.
