Superb ANTIQUE Solid Silver BUTTON HOOK& SHOE HORN Hallmarked 1905 Sterling NR Stunning& Rare Cased Set of FOUR PIECES- Very Unusual This is a gorgeous ANTIQUE EDWARDIAN solid sterling silver mounted pair of button hooks. Glove stretchers and shoe horn that was made in Birmingham. England in 1905 by the illustrious Edwardian silversmiths, W. I. Broadway& Company at their Frederick Street workshops. The shoe horn measures 9" long and is 1 1/2" wide. The large button hook is 8 5/8" long and is 1 1/8" wide. The small button hook is 3 1/4" long and is 1/2" wide. The glove stretchers are 8 3/8" long and is 3 1/4" wide. The set weigh 262.2 grams- almost 8 1/2 troy oz. They have stunning embossed decoration to the filled sterling silver handles and steel hooks and blades. They are in pretty good ... morecondition with just the usual light surface scratching with few dings or dents and much less than the usual distortion- A LOVELY SET- just some damage to handles of the large button hook and the shoe horn with the usual overpolishing. Each is hallmarked B&Co. Anchor, lion passant(sterling silver assay mark) f showing that they were hallmarked in Birmingham in 1905. I have shown the hallmark so that you can make up your own mind. The hallmarks are rubbed but can be deciphered for Chester 1918. The maker’s mark is poor but the outline looks like it is that of James Deakin& Sons. Sterling Silver Handled Repousse Antique Button Hook Hallmarked Date 1890-1910.
On offer is a lovely ornate Sterling Silver Button hook from Victorian England. It is hallmarked Sterling Silver from Birmingham and the Maker is marked as L& S. And the date is worn, so I cannot make it out.However; the Company was Levi and Salaman Birmingham, England that used that mark from 1890-1910, until Phineas Levi's demise. There are no holes and it is quite solid. It measures 2 7/8" and is finely decorated and hand crafted. No holes or damage.Both sides have been photographed in high definition and you can see it clearly. It is quite solid and lovely. A wonderful example of the era.

Offered for sale is an Edwardian Thistle Sterling Button Glove hook made by Crisford and Norris and hallmarked in Birmingham. The mark is slightly rubbed and the date letter not clear but ususally made about 1909. It has a citrine stone at the top of the thistle. In good used condition. Victorian hallmarked Silver-handled 28cm Button Hook – 1890 by Adie & Lovekin
Victorian hallmarked Silver handled utton Hook This long button hook has a sterling silver clad candytwist handle with a ball to the terminal and the stem is made of steel. The handle is hallmarked for Birmingham with what looks like the Gothic letter‘q’ as the date mark which would date it to 1890. The maker’s mark is that of Adie and Lovekin. This piece is in good condition with no dents. Splits or holes to the handle although there are surface abrasions and tiny nicks to the raised edges of the decoration. The stem is firmly fixed to the handle but is corroded extensively to the surface. Please see the photos below which show all aspects of this item. Antique hallmarked Silver-handled 19.5cm long Button Hook – Chester 1906
Antique hallmarked Silver handled Button Hook This button hook has a shaped. Sterling silver clad handle which is decorated with scrolls and a winged cherub in relief. The stem is made of steel. It is hallmarked for Chester 1906 but, unfortunately, the maker’s mark isn’t very clear and looks as if it is either‘WRG’ or‘WFG’ The silver is in good condition with no splits or holes that I can find but there are a number of small dints and tiny abrasions to the surface caused through use over the years. The stem is sound and firmly attached to the handle but there is a degree of pitting to the steel. Please see the photos below which show all aspects of this piece.
