A terrific antique English. Solid sterling silver(fully hallmarked) two-piece folding fruit knife. With silver blade and integrated case/handle. It bears a registry mark and hallmark for Birmingham 1902 and is in excellent, fully working condition with a slight dent to one side of the case, weighs 9.1 grams and measures 5 inches long open, 3 ¼ closed. The Sterling handle is 1 7/8" long and 1/2" wide both sides are stamped"sterling" mixed in the top of the design and they also are stamped 925/1000 on both sides. The small knife blade is 1 1/4" long and it is also stamped griffon/flying lion. The blade opens and closes as it should. ANTIQUE STERLING SILVER FOLDING MEDICINE SPOON HERBST& WASSALL According to the little information I was able to gather. Herbst and Wassall was a New Jersey silversmithy in operation from 1909- 1940. A closeup of their mark, a star and a wing, is shown in the last photo above. The spoon is also marked"STERLING" and"1825" The large bowl measures 2 1/2" long by 1 3/4" at its widest point. The small bowl measures 1 3/4" by 1 1/8" The extended length is 6 1/2" You can see in the photos that this needs a good cleaning. Which I leave to those who actually know how to do it if they so choose. The surface is nice and smooth, with no dents or dings. The hinges are very good. The outside of the large bowl is monogrammed(see photo)

We have speculated that it is for Cigarettes, Playing Cards, Poker Chips, Matches and even Dominos but there is no evidence for this. Victorian Sterling Silver& Mother of Pearl Handle Folding Button Hook or Sewing Tool dated 1900 This Antique Button Hook or Sewing Tool measures approximately 3 5/8 inches or 93 mm in total length from the silver hanging ring on the end of its handle to the end of the silver hook when it's fully extended by just under 1/2 an inch or 12 mm across the widest part of its upper body from side to side and it is just over 2 1/8 inches or 55 mm across the length of its body or handle when the hook is folded shut. It is marked with the Duty Marks- Queen Victoria- 1838-1890 and makers mark for John Round& Son(John& Edwin Round- 1869-1870. Both the folding fork and spoon are English sterling silver hallmarks and the C for the year 1870. The stainless knife blade is marked Asprey. London Street. The handle covering on the knife and spoon is in very fine antique condition. Antique Sterling Silver Folding Pocket Knife This fabulous solid sterling silver pocket knife is ornately decorated in an art nouveaux style. The quality is superb with intricate detail and finished edges. see photo of knife edge. The large blade is marked sterling on one side and 71on the other side. It measures about 3" folded and about 5 3/8" long with the blade extended. It weighs 33 grams. There is a very light three initial monogram on one side. YLS? It is an impressive early piece. It came from a great local estate. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. some minor scuffs and scratches. please see photos to fully appreciate condition and description.
