WINE FUNNEL A George III solid silver wine funnel. Hallmarked on the bowl and spout for London 1801, the maker's mark is A? Of typical form. It features a circular pierced strainer bowl with a readed rim and applied hook to the side, fitted with a snug fitting detachable tapering spout, it also has the rarely seen silver muslin ring fitted between the bowl and spout. The funnel is in generally good order for its significant age, there is a small repair to collar of the spout which also has numerous little dings. there are no engravings or monograms and no sign of any erasures. Antique Georgian Sterling Wine Funnel Napthali Hart 1812 London
This is a Georgian sterling wine funnel. The pieces are by different smiths. The strainer half is well made. In good condition. It is 3 3/16” in diameter x 2 ¼” tall. It weighs 2.35 troy ounces. The marks indicate it was made by Napthali Hart in 1812, London. The spout has no date letter, and the marks indicate it was possibly made by Crispin Fuller or Charles Fox. The cartouche outline isn’t well stamped, so it’s hard to say. There is a tear in the fitting, a dent in the spout, and the seam of the shaft has a tiny hole or tear. It weighs 0.85 troy ounces, measures 3 3/8” long and the fitting is 1 9/16” in diameter. These pieces fit together, but not terribly well. With a little repair work on the spout, they would probably fit better.

The wine funnel is of classic shape with a lovely bowl with wide top rim with chased acanthus leaves and shell motifs. The bowl has a scallop shell handle and the base is finely pierced. SILVER WINE FUNNEL A George III solid silver wine funnel. Hallmarks totally worn except the maker's mark on the strainer bowl which is that of Joseph Bradley, used 1776- 1785. Of typical form. Featuring a straining bowl with a detachable pouring spout. The funnel is in good order for its age, there is evidence of a small repair at the top of the spout and the spout tip is slightly mishapen with a couple of small splits, there a a few pin head dings and the hook is absent. There is an ornate monogram on the strainer bowl which has an attractive beaded rim. The whole piece displays really well and is still functional if required. The wine funnel stands 12cms high. The funnel has an approximate diameter of 7.5cms and the whole piece weighs in at 59g. This is a very attractive and collectable piece of Georgian silver. Here is a very fine sterling silver wine funnel with attractive features. By Crespin Fuller, London 1819. It has an unusual lobed decoration to the body. Which I have never seen before. The thumb piece is shell-shaped. Which is also quite rare. Regarding basics. The spout is complete with the tongue, which is often broken off. It is complete. And clearly hallmarked. It is in very good condition with a good patina. There are a few light usage dings. But hardly at all noticeable. There is no monogram or crest. The top part is fully hallmarked just below the lip and the lower part is partially hallmarked at the base of the spout. Dimensions: 150mm(6” long. Diameter: 88mm(3.5” Weight: 4.1 Troy oz.

This lovely Georgian silver wine funnel is in 2 parts and in very excellent condition and though the marks are rubbed. They are readable. These funnels with their filter bowls and angled spouts helped to both remove unwanted sediment from vintage wine and to aerate the wine. The spout of this funnel is both angled and ribbed for better pouring. The bowl has an engine turned rim and a very nicely shaped tang and fits into the spout. The hallmark on the bowl is only slightly rubbed and easily read with the makers mark J E. Of John Emes. London; the date letter is for 1799/00. The spout has a pair of engine turned rings on the wide rim and only the maker’s mark and the Lion passant. The bowl is engraved with a crest of a lion rampant. Bowl diameter 7 cms. Up for sale is an antique early sterling silver wine funnel. Either American or Irish made. It is a wonderful large size with the strainer inside attached. It is in good used condition. Some minor dings along the neck, monogrammed. There are no hallmarks. Measures about 5 inches long and 3 inches in diameter. Weighs 61.0 grams. Thank you for looking!
