Hallmarked L.E Lawrence Emanuel. Warstone Parade, Birmingham and Lion Passant, 1846. 0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false The wonderful intricate heart motif in the top center is 2” wide. It has 4 little fleurs de lys above the heart and is flanked by cherubs. Equally detailed is the second tier at 1 1/2” wide. With the same fleurs de lys and heart. It's flanked by one cherub playing a violin and the other a horn. The back of the top piece is marked: 9 L.E. followed by the Anchor for Birmingham. Letter for 1846 and the Lion Passant. Large hook on the back is 2 ½” Marked L.E Lion Passant ... moreand the letter for 1846. We took the chatelaine to a local gold and silver shop to be tested and all of the elements are sterling silver except for the perfume bottle. In the Victorian days the British were fascinated with India and the Far East- it’s quite possible this is where the perfume bottle came from. It might also be a snuff bottle. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN STERLING SILVER CHATELAINE 3 CHAINS SERPENT DRAGON COIN PURSE+
For your consideration a Victorian Antique STERLING SILVER CHATELAINE with 3 Chains. Each one holding something precious to the previous Owner some 125 years ago or so. It includes the pin itself which is marked Sterling and manages to have two either Serpent or Dragon Fish on either side of it. And also cut out Florals in the Center, scrolls on the Edge. It measures 3 1/4" x 2" The three chains hold a small coin purse. Crocheted I believe and decorated with marcasite or cut steel. The frame on the little purse must be Sterling too, but the inside of the frame so black I couldn't clean it off well enough to find a Sterling mark. It polished up like Sterling, and it Looks like Sterling,so it must be. The sweet coin purse measures 4 1/4" x 2 1/8" Then there's a lead pencil which may or may not still have lead in ... moreit. I see Sterling written at the bottom edge of it. Next a sweet little button hook which I have no doubt is Sterling too. But couldn't see the mark. All of this Elegant and Fun Chatelaine lot is in EXCELLENT antique condition. Both the purse and the clip are signed"Sterling 925 Fine" with the Unger Bros hallmark. This is a matching set, and the floral repousse pattern on each piece is so beautiful! Both the purse and the clip are in very good to excellent condition. There is one missing diamond shaped link on the back side of the purse which can be seen in the 5th picture. Up for a no reserve auction. Is a gorgeous solid sterling silver mesh chatelaine purse from the Victorian Era. The purse has two layers of mesh on each side, with an interior clasp and pocket. The purse measures 4 1/2" long and 2 1/2" wide. The purse weighs 1.6 regular ounces. There is a loop on the front of the frame for connecting it to a lady's chatelaine. There is a lovely filigree bead hanging from the bottom of the purse. There are two circular hallmarks on the interior of the frame. Which can be seen in the third picture. Victorian Sterling Silver Chatelaine Pin with Mirror, Pencil & Mesh Coin Purse
For years. Ladies wore necessary and useful implements clasped to the waist of their dresses because clothing was not made with pockets for carrying such items. They were usually worn suspended from a clip or large brooch with chains and hooks to hold the various implements, although later chatelaines could be worn on a finger ring. Description: Antique Victorian chatelaine item. This is a sterling silver powder compact with a mirror and its original puff inside. It measures 1-1/2 inches diameter X 11/16 inch high. It weighs 21.5 grams. Inside the lid there is the original mirror. In the lower interior section there is the original puff with traces of powder still on it. The rim of the lower section is stamped STERLING, then there is an R in a square box, there is also a maker mark which you can see in the detail close-up pictures, to my eye it looks to be a conjoined HB with an arrow going through it, and then there are more letters in a square that look to maybe be Co, and also the number 7121. There is the sterling silver chain coming off of the box. The chain measures 3 inches long. Up for sale is a very rare antique late Victorian Gorham sterling silver postal scale. It features a lovely little carrier pigeon. With a sealed envelope tucked securely in its beak, at the center of a very ornate floral scroll with scale marks in various increments. The hinged and weighted pendulum has a built in clip/hook for attaching envelopes or hanging very small parcels. The counter balance is designed to pivot clockwise and point to the correct weight in ounces as it swings. Piece has a ring along the top from which to suspend the scale or attach to a chatelaine. It measures 6 1/2 inches long by 3 1/2 inches wide and weighs 66.1 grams. It is marked on the reverse, as seen in the photographs, Gorham 10 1895’ and monogrammed‘ARL. Complete with genuine antique solid silver accessories/tools, by the silversmiths C C May& Sons, and with full English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1897. Excellent quality genuine 118 year old silver example. Has a beautiful pierced and engraved belt plate complete with hinged belt catch and attached are 6 silver chains of varying lengths with some lovely silver items including a Victorian silver rotating pin cushion, a floral engraved silver scent/perfume bottle, a pair of Edwardian silver sewing scissors and holder, a decorative Edwardian silver pill/rouge box and also a genuine French silver ... more1 Franc coin dated 1872. The total weight is a heavy approx. 132 grams and there are no added personal engraved monograms or inscriptions. Measurements Large size. Measures approx 10.75 inches(272 mm) in length(including accessories) The silver belt plate measures 2.5 inches x 2.25 inches. Date English antique Victorian solid sterling silver. With a full s et of English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1897(date letter"x" Stamped in 2 separate places on the plate and the belt catch. There are no hallmarks on the chains but they are 100% guaranteed solid silver. The accessories have various hallmarks and makers, scissors case Birmingham 1897, scissors Birmingham 1906, the pin cushion is Birmingham 1897, and the pill/powder box is Birmingham 1905. The scent bottle is unmarked but 100% guaranteed antique solid silver. IT HAS A BEAUTIFUL HEART SHAPED PERFUME HOLDER, WITH GREAT ART WORK ON IT, AND A WORKING TWIST OFF LID. IT ALSO HAS A FUNNEL FOR THE PERFUME HOLDER, DECORATED WITH MORE HEARTS. THE CHATELAINE HAS A 2 3/4 INCH MIRROR WITH DECORATIONS ON THE BACK. THE MIRROR IS STAMPED 925. IT ALSO COMES WITH WHAT I BELIEVE TO BE A LIP OR EYE LINER. IT HAS A SMALL PIECE OF RED SOMETHING THAT DOES LEAVE A RED COLOR ON SKIN. THE LINER IS HIGHLY DECORATED, AND BEAUTIFUL, IT ALSO HAS STERLING SPELLED OUT, THEN SOMETHING I CANT MAKE OUT. Up for sale is a very beautiful. Antique sterling silver chatelaine perfume bottle, circa 1900. The bottle has a gorgeous, very ornate sterling silver cap, and lovely cut crystal body. The perfume bottle measures 3 1/8" long and 5/8" wide. The cap of the bottle is clearly marked"Sterling" There is no monogram. The sterling lid of the perfume bottle is in overall excellent condition with no dings. Holes or repairs. The crystal body of the bottle is also in excellent condition with no flea bites, chips, cracks or holes. This is a gorgeous, antique collectible chatelaine perfume bottle in excellent condition. Here is a Victorian chatelaine that about 6 1/2" from the ring. Cherubs on the match safe. An A tag, the tube part is empty, there is paper in the little note pad, no lead in the pencil.
