It is in very good condition with these few exceptions: one inkwell has a largish chip on the bottom corner. It is missing one of the nuts on the bottom rear. It has a shallow dent of about 3/8" in the center and a very tiny one inside the gallery at the very edge in the inside front. These are only viewed when examining closely from a top view and I couldn't get them to show in a picture. It has the bell mark which dates it to 1900. There is an auction record for one of these from 2005 where it sold for $1000(before the big run up on silver)

Superb Antique English Sterling Silver Inkstand / Standish / Inkwells - 1896
A real gem of a desk set. This highly decorative inkstand is made from solid sterling silver, the stand weighing approx 14.25 Troy Ounces or 443 Grams(obviously excluding the silver on the inkwells) Standing on four wonderful Lion's paw feet and the raised border is decorated with cast flowers and scrolls, hand chased. The underside reveals even the three original fasteners are in place, made from sterling each with the makers mark. The stand has a long channel to the front which is of course a pen rest what makes this one rather special is the little candlestick or taper holder. The two inkwells are in superb condition, beautifully cut and with highly decorative repousse hinged lids. Vintage Lavender Guilloche Enamel on Solid Silver Capstan Inkstand: London 1932
The base of this pretty inkstand is just under 5 inches in diameter(12cm) and it stands 3 inches(7.5cm) high. It weighs 7oz(200g) it does not appear to be weighted. The silver is in good condition throughout. With no tears. The enamel on the lid is in extremely good condition. However, there is damage to the enamel to the base around the hinge. The hinge is in good order and has not been broken or repaired. There has been no restoration. It will need a replacement glass ink container. antique Gorham Sterling Silver Rococo Revival Standish ~ Inkstand ~ circa 1900
The sale is for this antique Gorham standish with two cut glass inkwells with marked sterling hinged lids. The r ectangular stand with raised backplate reticulated with diapered cartouche is set with a central lidded stamp box. At its widest point(from back foot to back foot) it is app 9 5/8" wide and app 5" deep and more than 3 1/4" tall at its highest point. It weighs app 474 grams without the inkwells and has a total weight of 818 grams with them. It is in very good condition with these few exceptions: one inkwell has a largish chip on the bottom corner. It is missing one of the nuts on the bottom rear. It has a shallow dent of about 3/8" in the center and a very tiny one inside the gallery at the very edge in the inside front. These are only viewed when examining closely from a top view and I couldn't get them ... moreto show in a picture. It has the bell mark which dates it to 1900. There is an auction record for one of these from 2005 where it sold for $1000(before the big run up on silver)

The inkstand consists of the stand with letter holders. Two inkwells, an ink pot and pen stand with two pens. The inkstand is rectangular in shape with a naturalistic silver bamboo border and standing on four superb bamboo leaf corner feet. The stand has three silver bamboo rings to the back for holding letters/ papers and silver pen rests to the front. The centre of the inkstand has two beautiful inkwells with chased bamboo leaves against a hand hammered background and finely pierced sides with bamboo leaves and swirling water. English Sterling Silver Inkstand / Inkwell - 1936
A very handsome English sterling silver inkstand or inkewll standing on four Art Deco style feet. The wonderfully shaped base has a raised border to accentuate it's very stylish form. The front has an integral pen tray to leave one's dip pen. The crystal inkwell has a step cut into the base so it sits perfectly in the cut-out in the silver base. The collar and hinged lid is also made of English sterling silver. There is a full English hallmark for Birmingham 1936 together with the makers mark for the well renowned silversmiths.
