This is a BEAUTIFUL lot of 2 really heavy ornate door knobs and 2 ornate backplates. I'm not sure what they're made out of, but they have a coppery bronzy color to them. They're in good vintage condition with some surface wear and tarnish and are very grimy and dirty but will look stunning polished out or you can enjoy them with their wonderful aged patina.there are no cracks or breaks.please view pictures for any further description/condition. New Old Stock Weiser No 1636 Tall Square Escutcheon. Actually a rectangular escutcheon. Bright brass finish- picture shows protective paper still in place on polished brass surface. For use with 2 3/8 inch. 2 3/4 inch and 5 inch backset locks. Hole diameter is 1 13/16 inches. Solid brass measuring 6 inches x 12 inches. Hole measures 1 13/16 inches in diameter. NOS from parents 1950's hardware store which was closed in 1962. This part has been untouched for the last 50 years. Residue from protective covering will need to be cleaned off of bright brass finish before installing.

This is an vintage door knob backplate that was purchased at an estate sale. Please see photos for details. Measures 8 1/4" long x 3" across. The top hole diameter is 1 1/4" The lowest hole diameter is 2 5/8" I believe the building it came from was either a funeral home or church based on the information card that each piece description was on. The cards read. Should you desire the family to know of your presence, please leave this token of your sympathy and esteem" I'm not certain which room this set was from since the cards were loose, but the room listed were"Chapel, Night Room, Room A, Room B, State Room" I hope that can help give a little bit of history to these pieces.
