Pair Architectural Bronze Asian Art Deco Door Knob Back Plates
A nice pair of antique Art Deco Architectural Back Plates. The back plates would have been used as a decorative accessory behind a set of Door Knobs or handles. The pair is made of bronze or brass and has an Asian influence in the design. The set is large with each piece measuring 12 1/8" x 3 1/4" wide. The center hole is 2 5/8" over, 2" at the opening. The back plates would be wonderful as decorative accessories and can be used for other creative purposes. The pair is in very good overall condition. Both pieces are offered for one price. set of hardware for a pair of antique pocket doors c. 1885. they are cast bronze. the 4 door plates are marked 6844 on the back. They are 4 3/4" x 2" have a recessed key well. one is slightly bent at the key hole but looks fine. the other pieces are a left& right insert for the doors edge, one is convex& one concave so that they fit together if the door is closed. they are made by norwalk lock co. the black box is just over 5 1/4" x just over 3" the long bronze front piece is 7 5/8" x 1 1/8" very nice set. original old patina remains, i did not polish them. i do not have the key. usa only. paypal. The pattern is Verocchio which was from the Italian Renaissance School of Design. The two plates have a detailed leaf pattern and are of heavy cast bronze. The dimensions are 20 inches by 3 1/4 inch. They are marked on the back P410 Verocchio and have the Russell& Erwin logo with U.S.A. I do have two locks that fit the plates with five keys that will operate the two locks and one matching bronze handle. The handle is 8 1/4 inches in total length. These backplates measure 2.5" wide and 9.75" tall and are stamped on back Y&T and 11481. Absolutely stunning. I no longer have a use for them. They are cast bronze and have a beautiful patina. The pattern is a classic egg& dart around the border of the plates. I believe they date from the late 1800's to early 1900's. They appear to be somewhat Edwardian in style.

2 Antique cast bronze thumb latch handle door plates
Pair of antique bronze thumb latch handles and backing plates. I believe these would have been a set for double doors. Handle#1(offset to the right) Nice overall condition with no cracks or breaks. There are 5 mounting holes. The down side to this one is the thumb latch part. It is not original. Somewhere along the way it was replaced with an iron one. But it is still in very functional condition. On the back of the plate the handle is held on with 2 rivites.Slight bending along the length of the plate. Penn Antique Restoration. Pair of 3"x12" Antique"Russwin" Cast Bronze Door Push Plates. Elegant. Antique, push plates made by"Russwin" of New Britain, CT around the turn of the previous century. Each plate is made of solid, heavy, thick, cast bronze, not plated iron. The edges of each plate have a lovely. Curved bevel, which adds a level of depth and boldness to their classic designs. Russwin called this design, Enfield. We acquired these push plates about 4 years ago. When we removed them from a pair of schoolhouse doors, which we stripped down to the bare wood(see last photo) The plates were painted, heavily tarnished, and dirty. We spent much time cleaning and polishing them to restore them to their original splendor. We didn't post them separately on eBay in case the buyer of the doors wanted to keep ... morethem with the doors. The customer wanted knobs instead, so her loss is now your opportunity! Since we cleaned them 4 years ago, they have developed a very subtle patina, which only adds a degree of warmth to their natural, bronze color. Although they have keyholes. The doors that we removed them from didn't have a lock. However, we do have a, Russwin, mortise lock with bronze faceplate that we could sell for an additional $25. It's a sophisticated lock with 4 tumblers(most antique locks only have 1 tumbler! Since we make keys by hand, the more tumblers a lock has the greater the difficulty and longer the process to make a key. We could make keys for the lock for $15/key. This is one of the nicest bronze door sets I have ever seen. Has fine detailed bronze work in raised design. Excellent quality and fine casting. Could use some cleaning. Have not touched. Do not have the key for the lock. Measures about 11 ¼ inches long and 3 ¾ inches wide, excluding lock. Has a fantastic look. Heavy thick bronze. Pair Art Nouveau Bronze Door Key Hole Push Plates
For your consideration is this stunning pair of art nouveau bronze swinging door push plates with key holes. These are vintage and have a bright patina. The plates are 18 ½” long. And 3” wide. They attach to the door with four screws each(I did not find these with the original screws) These are heavy and certainly foundered work(not pressed or rolled) There is one spot where the edge appears to have been ground(please see picture) I did not find a foundry mark. This auction is for a great pair of very ornate. Neoclassical-style door knob plates featuring gryphons, urns and lovely scrollwork. These are reproductions, but still beautiful.They will clean up nicely if so desired. They measure approximately 9 7/8" x 2 3/4" at widest point. The center hole is about 11/16" in diameter;it is 1 1/2" from center of hole to top edge of keyhole. Each one weighs about 14.6 ounces(both together. Almost two pounds)
