This is a vintage Corbin Brass knobs. Face plates, Mortise lock and one key. The set is quite heavy, weighing in at more than 6 pounds. The door knobs have an ornate"DB" which is surrounded by a ring of cool beading. It appears to be in working order but needs to be refinished, in my opinion. Such a great looking set! Up for auction I have a nice art deco handle set. Glass knobs that are about 2" diameter. And free of chips. One odd thing about these is that one side, both back plate and metal on the knob are brass, and the other side they are silver in color. Up for auction is this gorgeous Victorian heavy solid brass very ornate door knobs. Plate and lock set(minus the square shaft that connects the knobs) One plate is 16" in length and the other 10" in length. This is a complete matching set acquired from(sadly) a Midwestern Victorian mansion that burnt. The plates are in good condition. Just to mention that there is one spot on the backside of the shorter( interior plate) see photos that is a stress spot not seen on the front side. The knobs are fabulous. Everything included as seen in first photo as the wood piece is NOT included just so you know. Doorknob set is really a bunch of mixed parts. Each with some beautiful ornate detail, the white knob is a weighteir metal(magnet sticks) and measures about 2 1/2 inches across, the other knob I believe may be brass(magnet does not stick) also measures 2 1/2 inches across, magnet does not stick to the large back plate either, this has holes for two keys and measures 2 3/4 x 10 inches, hidden in between(I almost midded it) is a brass/ magnet does not stick) round rosette dress plate for knob, measures 2 1/2 inches across ~ last is teh lock plate, not tested, exposed edge is 6 3/4 inches in length and 1 inch across ~ these are not reproductions and show age, wear, paint and traces of rust ~ great for restoration or creative art and upcycling projects! These are 2 door plates- 2 door knobs and a lock. As you can see the one plate has a nice patina& the other. as well as the lock.is just Amazing to look at. The lock turns but will need some work or fiddling with because not as solid as it should be. I am selling this as is- like I do with some other things and then if I get the chance to work on something or bring it in I do and relist different $) Also as you can see the little groove on the side/lower area of lock must have been made long ago from the patina over it. These door knobs are from the 1890's as well but I do not know the maker. They're patina just happened to match very well and the door lock set that goes with them is loaded with many coats of paint and at this point I am listing and selling with these plates. If you are just interested in the plates or knobs separately ... morethan message me. The knobs are solid bronze and 2 1/8" D The plates are 7 1/4" H x 1 3/4" W Lock is 6 1/8" x 1 1/8" Both key swings are in great shape. antique/ vintage ** GLASS door knobs w/ BRASS plates ** skeleton mortise 20s 30s
This auction is for a pair of antique/ vintage GLASS and BRASS door knobs, a pair of embossed. Ornate antique/ vintage door plates. These plates are BRASS- a magnet does NOT stick to them. The plates have a patinated antique brass look to them now- I think they could be polished to shine. The plates measure 5 1/16" high x 1 1/2" wide. These have NOT been cleaned- there is some white paint residue on the knobs and on the back plates. There is rust and white paint on the faceplate of the mortise-type lockset. The bolt moves in and out with spring return- I think it will work even easier when the rust is cleaned off and it's lubricated. NO skeleton key is included. The glass knobs are both 2" in diameter and match. The face of the lockset measures 7/8" wide x 5 1/4" high. Also included are the two setscrews for the ... moreknobs, 3(only) of the brass screws for the escutcheon plates. The steel spindle for the knobs. Ships world wide on this item. This is an original old vintage awesome set of late 1800s solid brass and VERY Ornate door plates and knobs. When i found them they were all 4 taped together showing that they were once all used together. the patterns all match.
