This is a BEAUTIFUL lot of 2 really heavy ornate door knobs and 2 ornate backplates. I'm not sure what they're made out of, but they have a coppery bronzy color to them. They're in good vintage condition with some surface wear and tarnish and are very grimy and dirty but will look stunning polished out or you can enjoy them with their wonderful aged patina.there are no cracks or breaks.please view pictures for any further description/condition. Vintage Antique door knob back plates Brass copper beaded rim
Bidding on this vintage pair of antique back plates. they are brass but have a copper tone to them. The knob in the last photo is not included. Just to give you an idea of what it could look like with proper knobs. These knobs I have as a seperate auction. There are knobs on line that are brass beaded. I don't have any at this time. The plates are about 9" long and 3" at the widest point. the inside hole for the knob is 3/4" outside. Then beveels in to 5/8" If your knob has a base rim of 3/4 or larger it will REST on the rim of the plate. If it is 5/8 it will sit in the rim.

The backplates are brass over copper and measure 5 9/16" long, bottom of keyhole to bottom edge of plate is 1 1/16" top of plate to center of knob hole is 1 3/4" Cast iron mortise lock measures 5 11/16" tall, the piece that goes in the wall measures 3 5/8" tall x 1/2" wide x 3 3/16" deep. 1890s Antique Door Knob Back Plates PAIR Fancy Victorian Brass/Copper? AS IS
Here is a good pair of door knob plates. They do match altho it may be hard to tell because of the paint on the 1. I'm guessing these are brass but the one that is stripped is more of a copper color, neither is magnetic. This same design is on homes around here from the 1890s up to about 1910. The length is 5 13/16 in. x 1 15/16 in. They will be carefully packed& sent in a box. Questions welcome.

Up for sale are Two Vintage Brass Plated Over Copper Door Knob Back Plates These brass plated door knob back plates has areas of the brass plating worn off and the copper showing through. Well aged patina on the brass, some greenish tarnish on the front surface, some light scratches on most surfaces, some small dents and some normal wear from years of service. The smaller back plate is bent downward for the bottom 1/3 of the plate around the key hole. This larger back plate measures 9" long x 2 1/2" wide and the smaller one measures 7" long x 2 1/4" wide.
