antique victorian c1890 architectural pocket door hardware locks plates bronze
set of hardware for a pair of antique pocket doors c. 1885. they are cast bronze. the 4 door plates are marked 6844 on the back. They are 4 3/4" x 2" have a recessed key well. one is slightly bent at the key hole but looks fine. the other pieces are a left& right insert for the doors edge, one is convex& one concave so that they fit together if the door is closed. they are made by norwalk lock co. the black box is just over 5 1/4" x just over 3" the long bronze front piece is 7 5/8" x 1 1/8" very nice set. original old patina remains, i did not polish them. i do not have the key. usa only. paypal. The pattern is Verocchio which was from the Italian Renaissance School of Design. The two plates have a detailed leaf pattern and are of heavy cast bronze. The dimensions are 20 inches by 3 1/4 inch. They are marked on the back P410 Verocchio and have the Russell& Erwin logo with U.S.A. I do have two locks that fit the plates with five keys that will operate the two locks and one matching bronze handle. The handle is 8 1/4 inches in total length. Where the handle posts attach to the back plate is 6 1/4 inches from the center hole to center hole. The locks are 1 3/4 inches in diameter and 1 3/4 inches in depth. These backplates measure 2.5" wide and 9.75" tall and are stamped on back Y&T and 11481. Absolutely stunning. I no longer have a use for them. They are cast bronze and have a beautiful patina. The pattern is a classic egg& dart around the border of the plates. I believe they date from the late 1800's to early 1900's. They appear to be somewhat Edwardian in style.

Pair of antique bronze thumb latch handles and backing plates. I believe these would have been a set for double doors. Handle#1(offset to the right) Nice overall condition with no cracks or breaks. There are 5 mounting holes. The down side to this one is the thumb latch part. It is not original. Somewhere along the way it was replaced with an iron one. But it is still in very functional condition. On the back of the plate the handle is held on with 2 rivites.Slight bending along the length of the plate. Handle#2(offset to the left) Nice overall condition with no cracks or breaks. Ther are 8 mounting holes, I believe 5 are original the other 3 were added. Also all have been redrilled to counter sink the screws. On the back of the plate the handle is held on with nuts instead of rivets. I do not know the manufacturer of these items. There are no dents. Penn Antique Restoration. Pair of 3"x12" Antique"Russwin" Cast Bronze Door Push Plates. Elegant. Antique, push plates made by"Russwin" of New Britain, CT around the turn of the previous century. Each plate is made of solid, heavy, thick, cast bronze, not plated iron. The edges of each plate have a lovely. Curved bevel, which adds a level of depth and boldness to their classic designs. Russwin called this design, Enfield. We acquired these push plates about 4 years ago. When we removed them from a pair of schoolhouse doors, which we stripped down to the bare wood(see last photo) The plates were painted, heavily tarnished, and dirty. We spent much time cleaning and polishing them to restore them to their original splendor. We didn't post them separately on eBay in case the buyer of the doors wanted to keep ... morethem with the doors. The customer wanted knobs instead, so her loss is now your opportunity! Since we cleaned them 4 years ago, they have developed a very subtle patina, which only adds a degree of warmth to their natural, bronze color. Although they have keyholes. The doors that we removed them from didn't have a lock. However, we do have a, Russwin, mortise lock with bronze faceplate that we could sell for an additional $25. It's a sophisticated lock with 4 tumblers(most antique locks only have 1 tumbler! Since we make keys by hand, the more tumblers a lock has the greater the difficulty and longer the process to make a key. We could make keys for the lock for $15/key. This is a pair of original P.F. Corbin door plates in the"Ceylon" pattern. This Ceylon pattern was featured in Corbin's 1895 catalog. These plates are solid. Heavy CAST BRONZE. Condition is excellent. No paint. No cracks or chips. Design is sharp and crisp. Perfect mounting holes. Clean door knob wells and keyholes. No chips, tears or rough edges. We love their patina, but because it is solid bronze it may be polished to your liking. These plates measure 5 1/2" tall by 1 9/16" wide. This is a wonderful pair of matching Yale& Town door plates in solid bronze with a rich patina. Probably from the Edwardian period(circa 1907) They measure 9.5" from top to bottom. And 2.5" side to side. They have the egg and dart design around the perimeter of the plate. Both are marked Y&T on the back. Here are a pair of antique cast iron door push plates that are marked"Chatham" 7520" on the back. Either the model# and maker or model# and style. They measure 11" long by 3" wide at the widest part and are unusual in that they are made of cast iron rather than brass or bronze. Nice intricate Art Nouveau or Classical style. Offered are 2 MATCHING ANTIQUE DOOR PUSH PLATES. I have not cleaned them as many people prefer the old patina. I'm not an expert on the metal. I thought they were copper but the embossing has a golden glow. They may be bronze or a combination of metals. ANTIQUE. used. NOT CLEANED.They have very little use marks and have a nice Patina. I don't know the material. They have a copper glow in the center flat part. The EMBOSSED DESIGN has a bronze glow. The backs are dark with the copper color showing through in places. They measure about 11 1/2" x almost 3" They are heavy. 2 holes for screws(not included) on each plate. The back is marked and number on the back of each is 2419. Which are antique bronze plated steel measuring 7” by 2 ⅝” and held onto the door with four screws on a 6 ½” by 2 ⅛” center line distance. As seen in the photos, one of the plates has been provided with a key slot. No dings or dents, but a previous owner was sloppy with the paint brush and slopped over on to the edges of the plates. I cleaned one side of one of the plates, so I know that careful cleaning can remove the rest of the paint, but I will leave that to the next owner.
