Dates from the late 1880's to early 1890's, they each measure 5-5/8 inches tall, 1-7/8 inches wide, they have some old paint and some light surface rust on them and are still in great, usable condition. Set of 2 Antique Brass Escutcheon Plates This auction is for 2 very nice original keyhole cover plates. They have a beautiful patina and have not been refinished. I restored antique furniture many years ago and have some hardware left over. Each one measures about 4.75" from top to bottom and 0.75" wide at center. They are about 5/32" thick. Solid Copper Victorian Door Plates With Skelton Keyhole
I Guarantee these to be Old and Original. SOLID COPPER. NOT coated. They are soft. As you can see i scratched 2 small areas on back. I have not attempted to clean them, one side still has some dirt. Antique set Long oblong keyhole door plates key lock covers embossed Victorian Arts Crafts- thin embossed- 11 inches long These two key hole door plate keyhole covers or escutcheons are in lovely shape. Also quite different. They are made of a thin hard metal and have a simple embossed or raised design on the edges– raised hobnails or hobnobs or dots. These are not reproductions. I do not know the exact era. But the styling appears to be a special simplistic Arts and Crafts era item or a Victorian item. If experts in antique hardware have additional information, please do email me. These were found with the Chicago Mortise lock I also have listed. But I do not know if they go together. The final photos show the lot together. But the lock is listed separately. Exact composition of the metal is unknown.
