Rice pattern interior mortise lock doorknob set solid bronze reproduction
This set fits doors that are not pre-bored. The Rice pattern was made by Yale and Towne of Stamford Connecticut around 1885. We collected originals. Tested the bronze content, and cast in the finest sand to capture the finest details. The lock box measures 4 x 3 x 1 inches The face of the lock measures 5 1/2 x 7/8 x 1/8 inches. The center of the round part of the key hole to the center of the hub for the doorknob is a standard 2 ¼ inches. The back set of the lock is 2 3/8 inches. The back plates measure X x X the doorknobs are 2 ¼ inches in diameter and have detailing also on theie reverse side. The Charleston Hardware Co. fine hardware reproductions and restored vintage hardware Rice Keyed Back Plates pair- 390148 Rice back plates; The Rice pattern was produced around 1880 by Yale and Towne Mfg. Co.of Stamford Connecticut. The back plates are sand cast one at a time and finished by hand just as they were over 100 years ago. The back plates are solid cast bronze and unlacquered. Reading Columbian Fox Head Entry or Foyer Doorknob and Backplate Bronze 1897
Antique Ornate Victorian Entry or Foyer/Vestibule Doorknob Backplate with deadbolt twist knob in excellent condition circa 1897. These were often used on the secondary entry door for a foyer or vestibule. This is the Fox Head Columbian pattern with the fox on the knob. Solid cast bronze. Backplate measures 1 3/4" wide x 5 1/2" tall. Rod on back of plate is 1 1/4" long and 3/16" square. Knob has a 2 1/4" diameter. Beautiful set. SHIPPING: I combine shipping. Offering for auction a great set of 4 matching 19th century American Victorian Cast Bronze ornamental triangle shaped escutcheon doorknob back plates. Each plate is marked"Pat'd Jan. 25. 1870" I believe that patent belong to Metallic Compression Casting Company MCCC. Boston Mass. The plates are 4-1/2" tall by 2-1/2" wide. All 4 plates being sold together in one auction for one price. Guaranteed all 4 matching all original Victorian circa 1870's plates. These back plates were used with the famous Doggie Doorknobs! Great Vintage Doorknob, Rosette and Keyhole Cover Bronze 1920's
Large Lot Antique Porcelain Doorknobs in good used condition circa approx. 1900's. Black and white. White knobs have brown spotting and some discoloration. The last picture under lower light shows this best. The black knobs have some scuffing but typical wear. There are 13 white knobs with three of these having the flared shaft ends for rim locks. There are 7 black knobs with 3 of these having the flared ends. One knob has a fixed spindle in the shaft. These are used knobs with imperfections. SHIPPING: I combine shipping. Up for bids is a great old door hardware set from an estate. The knobs are beautiful heavy bronze with a nice detailed casting. The knobs ar about 2 1/4" in diameter. The large doorplate measures 7 5/8" x 1 3/4" The bronze plate on the lockset measures about 6 3/4" x1" The mechanism works. The backplate measures 2 1/4" in diameter. A really beautiful set.
