Up for auction is an Antique Cast Iron Mail Door Slot with the word"LETTERS" embossed on the Slot swinging Door. It is very heavy cast iron and lots of layers of heavy black paint. The design embossed is sort of a VVVV accross the top and bottom. Around the screw hole are two embossed flowers on each side. I could not find a makers name or mark. The door swings in very easily. Thick, cast iron, not stamped/pressed steel. Also included are the 2 mounting bolts, 2 washers, and 4 screws to fasten the plates to the door. Both plates have beveled edges. And the door features the text, PAPERS, in the center. We found both plates partially painted.
