Nice lot of four antique Eastlake patterned doorknob keyhole backplates for your consideration. These are good reusable condition. Some very minor peening might be needed to straighten a couple of the edges. Most of the original copper Japanning is gone. Some residual cleaning will be needed for a new finish where there is some old paint and finish on them. Neck collars are tight for reuse and measure just shy of 3/4 of an inch. Plates measure 5 1/2 x 1 3/4 inches and are 2 inches ctr to ctr of the skeleton key barrel to the doorknob collar. Questions welcome otherwise what you see is what you get. Penn Antique Restoration. Antique Victorian Porcelain Keyhole Cover Plate. Rare. Antique, keyhole cover plate salvaged from upstate NY. It's made entirely of porcelain. We removed the plate from a big door that we salvaged. Unfortunately. The plate was broken when we acquired the door, and only the 3 screws were keeping the 2 halves together. Since then, we re-secured the 2 parts using an industrial strength epoxy. The bond is very strong. Although a scar is visible. You may be able to apply some high-gloss, off-white paint over it. There may even be a product for touching up spots of worn porcelain on old cast iron sinks and tubs that may help disguise the scar on this plate. If the quantity above falls below 7, this indicates that 1 or more sold. Lovely. Antique, keyhole cover plates salvaged from Northeastern Pennsylvania. Each plate is made entirely of porcelain. We've removed these over the years from the various doors that we've salvaged in our area. Since they were salvaged from different doors. Which came from different homes, all of the plates are not 100% matching. They may differ 1/8" in width or height, the keyhole sizes vary slightly, and the shapes of the plates and/or keyholes may differ slightly as well(see"Group photo" to compare) We found all of the plates dirty(see last photo) And we've cleaned them to the best of ... moreour ability. Overall. The plates are in excellent condition with no breaks or structurally-threatening cracks. Two or three plates have hairline cracks, and one or two have tiny nicks.
