Antique, original entry door set made by"Norwich" of Norwich, CT during the late 1880's This set consists of 2 bronze knobs, 1 bronze escutcheon, 1 bronze rosette, 1 bronze keyhole cover, 1 bronze thumb turn, 1 iron mortise lock with bronze face plate, 2 working keys and 1 spindle with 2 set screws. All bronze parts are solid, heavy cast bronze- not stamped or plated iron. We found this set with the 4 parts with it. so we added a period rosette, keyhole cover, and thumb turn from our collection to complete this set. Norwich" was a smaller company during its time, and now its very difficult to find parts for one of these sets. All bronze parts are embellished with lovely aesthetic(East lake) style details. At the point of salvage, some parts were painted, and all were heavily tarnished canceling ... morethe beauty of the sets design. Since then, we have cleaned and polished all bronze parts to a brilliant shine. The set is in excellent condition with no breaks,cracks,or heavy scratches. Plate and lock set(minus the square shaft that connects the knobs) One plate is 16" in length and the other 10" in length. This is a complete matching set acquired from(sadly) a Midwestern Victorian mansion that burnt. The plates are in good condition. Just to mention that there is one spot on the backside of the shorter( interior plate) see photos that is a stress spot not seen on the front side. The knobs are fabulous. All taken from a replacement door out of a very old home. All are original. The knobs have no breaks or chips but paint. Scratches/scuffs are noticeable. The key holes covers are all brass and they have paint as well as scuffs and two came out of this and the third is included and matches too, just off a diff door. One key hole cover that came off this piece was put on wrong so the stencil is really nice on this one. Includes two brass plates, one is on the shank in picture, one is off. Antique. Circa 1840-1880's, rare iron set of door knobs with back plates. Broken leaf pattern, the knobs measure 2 1/4 inches deep and 2 1/4 inches wide. The back plates are 5 inches long by 1 3/8 inches wide. Prior to the bronze door knobs, iron was what they used in architectural structures and fancy homes and estates. Great collector, home decor or architectural hardware piece. Comes from a smoke free home. We do not charge handling charges. Only postage. Doorknob set is really a bunch of mixed parts. Each with some beautiful ornate detail, the white knob is a weighteir metal(magnet sticks) and measures about 2 1/2 inches across, the other knob I believe may be brass(magnet does not stick) also measures 2 1/2 inches across, magnet does not stick to the large back plate either, this has holes for two keys and measures 2 3/4 x 10 inches, hidden in between(I almost midded it) is a brass/ magnet does not stick) round rosette dress plate for knob, measures 2 1/2 inches across ~ last is teh lock plate, not tested, exposed edge is 6 3/4 inches in length and 1 inch across ~ these are not reproductions and show age, wear, paint and traces of rust ~ great for restoration or creative art and upcycling projects! I have a nice antique set consisting of 2 porcelain knobs. Back plates and a working latch assembly. The spring is good. The back plates have been cleaned but the latch assy has no and it is painted black and is steel. The back plates are about 7 inches high and 2 1/4 inches wide. The porcelain knobs have some pitting in the porcelain. I do not have keys for these assys. This set is not reproductions. Look in the reproduction catalog and see what they cost. They are in as found condition. The plates are 7 3/4" x 2 1/2" Lot of 10 back plates and 10 door knobs. They are pressed steel with a chrome finish. The knobs and plates are in excellent condition. They show some wear and there are some pitted spots. The spots are normal aging.

Welcome To Another Man's Treasure Large Lot of Vintage door hardware.The black inner door mechanism(4) are Penn and have the Manufactures Name on the parts.There are 6 face plates in various condition only 1 has been painted.These have no MFG marks.There are 4 sets of knobs but 1 will need a screw to complete the 4th.There are also 2 extra knobs.3 Porcilan 6 steel and 1 brass(The lock mechanisms do work,I have included 2 skeleton keys to show that however I do not believe these are the correct keys for these locks.I had them laying around and used them to test the working order.The door knobs are in good shape,but 1 does show rust holes.You dont see many lots like this 3 full sets plus some extra hardware.Please see pictures and feel free to send questions.I will post and answer all.Shipped Priority Mail.
