Nice lot of four matching cast iron doorknob keyhole backplates for your consideration. these were aquired with locksets where the lock faceplates had the bluebird or swallow pattern on them. I think these might have been the original plates for that design. Although I am not sure since I can not cross reference the manufacture catalog number on the back of each. Which is 5940. Measure 5 3/8 x 1/12 inches. 2 1/4 inch from ctr of knob to ctr of skeleton key barrel. A nice lot of harder to find Early period Victroian Eastlake cast iron backplates. All the plates are in good condition and I suspect that they might even clean up nicely to the original copper Jappanned finish, since they appear to have quite a bit of old varnish that would have protected them over the many years of service. The only problem is one, is missing a doorknob seat collar, ... morewhich could be replaced at some point, if needed for reuse. flat ship the lower 48 is 5.65. Thanks for looking

antique cast iron rim lock porcelain doorknobs skeleton key door knob backplates
I have an old cast iron surface rim lock with catch for your consideration. Included are a pair of porcelain doorknobs. Doorknob rosette, ornate skeleton key backplateand standard 1/4 inch driverod with a couple set screws for the knobs. The latch mechanism engages and disengages with drive gear and the lever lock locks latch. I do not have a key for deadbolt slide so I do not know if it works. Upon opening everything seems to be in order if you find a key or have one made. See pic of inside and you make your decision. Can be used without deadbolt as is. There is quite a bit of original black paint along with other residual paint and finish from over the years. Questions welcome otherwise what you see is what you get. Up for sale a Vintage pair of Ornate. Solid Brass, Backplates/ Escutcheons with 2 Knobs and Spindle. The plates oar oval shaped with Ornet Beading on the edges. One has double key holes and one has a single key hole. The double measurers 10 3/8" long by 3 1/16" at the widest. The single measurers 9 5/8" long by 2 7/8" at the widest. Each are solid brass with a nice beaded trim. They have some paint and staining and are in need of a cleaning. The knobs measure app. 2" in diameter. Antique Brass/Copper Door Mortise Lock, Backplates Arts & Crafts, Deco Eastlake?
This is a fantastic antique set of door hardware mortise lock and backplates. The design is so beautiful- very intricate. And all are in very good vintage condition- the patina is lovely! The backplates are brass over copper and measure 5 9/16" long, bottom of keyhole to bottom edge of plate is 1 1/16" top of plate to center of knob hole is 1 3/4" Cast iron mortise lock measures 5 11/16" tall, the piece that goes in the wall measures 3 5/8" tall x 1/2" wide x 3 3/16" deep. vintage art deco 1920s brass door back plate backplates knob antique remodelista
This is a lot of 8 matching door back plates with keyholes. Art deco design. Antique brass in color. Each measures 6 inches tall by 1.5 inches wide. I'm not an expert. But I believe they are solid brass as a magnet does not seem to stick to them. They are antique, not reproductions and look to be from the 1920s. They are in good, vintage condition with lots of vintage charm and life left in them. I'll be selling some brass knobs to match as well as some deco light fixtures and things in separate auctions later this week as well.
