This is a complete matching set acquired from(sadly) a Midwestern Victorian mansion that burnt. One brass knob is 2-3/8" dia. and weights 9.3 ounces and the other is 2-1/8" dia. and weights 6.7 ounces. This is an early Reading Hardware Co. Here is a complete set(except for the key) of a Victorian door set.two escutcheon plates. Sargent& Co. lock, both door knobs with the center shaft. The door plates are 8-1/4" high and 2-1/4" in width. The knobs are 2-1/4" and both have the patterns embossed on them. I'm not certain if these are brass or bronze- they are not magnetic. But definitely would look fantastic if they were cleaned. I can't find any cracks or breaks- the set is in very good condition. This auction is for a complete set of late Victorian Eastlake style door hardware. I recently removed them from the front door of an old farmhouse that we purchased the salvage from as it was to be bulldozed. Everything is there and works but there is wear to the Japanned finish on the inside door plate as we had to strip white paint from it and the lock edge. Normal scratches and darkening. These are made by Nashua Lock Co. circa 1885. Each door knob has unique ornate detailing on both the front side and the reverse side. A few small areas of green color signifying corrosion as seen in the photos. The first one on the left in photo's 3& 4 is the same one on the left in photos 9& 10(just turned around) and it has surface rust in a small area. No dents or hidden damage. All screws present.

Antique turn-of-the-century Victorian brass entry lock by Yale and Towne. The Back plates and Knobs are a beautiful design in the"Meridian" pattern. This highly decorated pattern should work with just about any architectural style. This sets includes two 11" back plates in Wrought Brass(actually would be called stamped today. two oval knobs in different sizes; the mortise box; and a square shaft key lock. Measurements: Back Plates: 11" x 3" Oval Knobs: Outside knob- 3" x 1-3/4" Inside knob- 2-5/8" x 1-1/2" Mortise Box: 6" x 3-5/8" x 3/4 The plates and knobs are in excellent condition and have been polished.
