1890s Antique Door Knob Back Plates PAIR Fancy Victorian Brass/Copper? AS IS
Here is a good pair of door knob plates. They do match altho it may be hard to tell because of the paint on the 1. I'm guessing these are brass but the one that is stripped is more of a copper color, neither is magnetic. This same design is on homes around here from the 1890s up to about 1910. The length is 5 13/16 in. x 1 15/16 in. They will be carefully packed& sent in a box. Questions welcome.

VINTAGE 1890-1910 Victorian Empire FANCY Oval Door Knob & Back Plate Escutcheon
You are bidding on 1 VINTAGE Victorian/ Empire Style FANCY Oval Doorknob AND 1 MATCHING Backplate Escutcheon seen in pix. This was caked in so many layers of lead paint it literally became part of the door. Carefully removed to prevent any damage to the edges. It was stripped to the original copper plating which was flaking off, so it was media blasted with fine grit and is now ready for you to paint OR plate with brass, copper, nickel or chrome. As the pix show it's in excellent condition with NO scratches or pits in the metal. Made by Corbin in the 1890's-1900's it was removed from a house built in 1901. It measures 7" long X 2-1/2" wide at the widest point. Pix show the actual plate you are bidding on.
