It is 1 15/16 inches in diameter. There are two countersunk mounting holes. At the bottom or back. The center hole is 7/16 inches in diameter. At the top it is 11/16 inch in diameter. These are 2 door plates- 2 door knobs and a lock. As you can see the one plate has a nice patina& the other. as well as the lock.is just Amazing to look at. The lock turns but will need some work or fiddling with because not as solid as it should be. I am selling this as is- like I do with some other things and then if I get the chance to work on something or bring it in I do and relist different $) Also as you can see the little groove on the side/lower area of lock must have been made long ago from the patina over it. These door knobs are from the 1890's as well but I do not know the maker. They're patina just happened to match very well and the door lock set that goes with them is loaded with many coats of paint and at this point I am listing and selling with these plates. Antique Vtg. Victorian Eastlake Door Knob Backplate & Mortise Lock Brass/Bronze?
A nice Victorian Eastlake Door Knob Backplate with matching mortise lock. Constucted of heavy brass and iron/steel. Fashioned in a quality of workmanship that is not easily found today. All is clean with much detail. Lock plate is slightly bent most likely could be repaired with a little heat from a torch and some tweaking with a pair of large pliers. No key for the lock. Dimensions are for the backplate.5 5/16" long x 1 7/16" wide x 3/32" thick the hole for the door knob spindle to pass through is 13/32" Mortise lock.3 1/8" wide( that's from the outer edge of brass plate to outer edge of lock. The brass plate on lock is 5 1/2" long x 7/8" wide x 5/32" thick. The black lock mechanism itself is 3 9/16" long x 2 15/16" x 1/2" thick. I did in fact insert a old door knob spindle to test ... morethe latch and it works fine. Sorry I DO NOT have the key for the lock. A nice pair of Victorian Eastlake Door Lock Strike Plates with extra escutcheon. Constucted of heavy brass. Fashioned in a quality of workmanship that is not easily found today. All is clean with much detail. A few light marks here or there nothing major or distracting. Dimensions are for the strike plates.3 7/8" long x 1 3/8" wide(at widest point) x 1/8" thick. The hole for the door latch to enter is 3/4" high x 17/32" wide. The hole for the lock bolt to enter is 1 5/32" high x 17/32" wide. The escutcheon is 2 15/16" long x 1 3/4" wide x 1/16" thick. A nice Victorian Eastlake Door Lock Strike Plate. Constructed of heavy thick solid cast brass. Fashioned in a quality of workmanship that is not easily found today. The face of plate is clean with much detail. Marks here or there nothing major or to distracting. The reverse has some sort of adhesive attached which could be removed if you are so inclined. Dimensions for the strike plate are.6 3/4" long x 1 15/16" wide(at widest point) x 1 3/32" wide elsewhere. 5/32" thick. Distance between the mounting holes is 5 3/4" on center, hole to receive latch is 3/4" long x 5/8" wide, the hole to receive lock bolt is 1 5/32" long x 7/8" wide.
