The 4 X 4" size is hard to find since they were usually only put on front doors of the house which wore them out from overuse. This set shows very little or no wear. Good olde vintage cast iron is stronger and harder than the new soft reproduction stuff they make in modern hinges. Likely cast in the late 1880's to the early 1900's. These have a nice sharp. Clean and fancy casting. The pattern is also on the back of the hinge knuckle and shows when the door is closed. The hinges were stripped of all the paint and wire brushed. They are raw cast iron with no paint or finish. They are 6 1/2" long from tip to tip and they are 4" wide laying open. The pins are loose and removable.
