The fabric is in great condition with no holes or tears. The only real wear is on the front of the arms. Otherwise there's only minimal wear. There are no tags on it but we've sold other Thayer Coggin sofas and this one definitely has the look of one. It has very cool psychedelic fabric that I think actually looks better in person than in the photos we have posted. The colors really pop. Each of the arms is raised up on(5) square chrome cubes that still have a lot of shine to them. The(4) legs are wood wrapped with chrome. It's an amazing piece and a very rare find especially in this condition. It measures 63" long x 26" tall at the top of the backrest and 16" tall at the seat level. Product We recognized the chair as Milo Baughman and removed the"new" upholstery which was put on we estimate about 1985- it was in bad condition anyways. We found the original upholstery below with all the labels showing this was from August 1975. Sadly. While the chrome is excellent the seat has tears to it and the back of the chair has the back original upholstery gone permanently. Therefore this chair will need to be reupholstered. It is a large chair 25" tall. 23" wide and 24" deep. It will need to be grey-hounded- see shipping. Condition chrome excellent. Upholstery needs replacing. There is also an 8' matching 3-cushion sofa available in a separate listing. Original delivery tag on this sofa is dated 9/20/74. This model is not common and features a striking chrome accent frame on the arms and original chevron patterned wool boucle fabric. These were found in the vacation home of the original owner. This auction is for this awesome example of Mid Century Modern furniture design. I recently remodeled my house and scaled back its contents. Thus the sale. This chair and ottoman design has strong presence and resemblance to the iconic Milo Baughman pieces. Since i can not find the Man. tag, i can only hope a buyer will recognize it for what it is. It has incredibly strong and heavy metal/chrome support structure, and i suggest you have a friend to assist with/when moving it. The fabric is sound with no odors, or thread failure throughout each piece. It has some fabric stains and fade from life and use, but nothing to take away from the beautiful design. Featured are 8 vintage chrome dining chairs. These chairs on 1stdibbs are attributed to Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin. I can not confirm that. I don't know of any other company that used the narrow square chrome tubing and the quality is very high. These chairs were reupholstered with new foam recently and are very nicely done. Thank you! to a fellow Ebayer who informed me they are designed and made by Design Institute of America. I can not guarantee this information to be correct but am sharing. That said Milo Baughman was a designer for DIA. The chairs are sweet and have a great look regardless. They measure approx. 20" wide. 21" deep, 34" tall, and seat 19. Up for bid is a very beautiful sideboard credenza designed by Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin. This sideboard dates to the mid 1960s and is very collectible. It measures 34.75"H x 72"L x 18.25"D. The surface is beautifully done with bookmatched Olive Wood Burl veneer throughout and sits on a chrome base. All four doors and hinge hardware work very well and open up to reveal a lot of storage space inside. Both drawers measure approximately 20"x 12"x 2.5" and still retain the original TC flatware dividers and the original TC/MB label. The left side of the credenza has both of the original adjustable shelves(one glass and one wood) Please note the dishware shown in the photos is NOT included in this auction. This credenza is in very nice condition but does have a few issues to point out. There is a small veneer ... morechip to the top corner of the left door as shown(I do still have the two veneer chips which will make for a very easy and complete repair) The inside back of the cabinet still has the original factory pale yellow paint and it shows it's age.craqueleur throughout and some areas of paint loss as shown. There are a few very light scuffs as shown(one on left side. One top side back left, and a couple more on the right side) They are not very noticeable at all in ordinary light and appear a lot more pronounced when I photographed them. The wood veneer has not been treated in any way except a light dusting since I have owned it(ten years) and I imagine that these scuffs will become practically invisible with a little wood conditioner. The chrome base still retains most of its brightness and lustre, but it could use a little cleaning and polish. The front part of the left side base is bent slightly inwards about an inch as shown. This would be a very a easy inexpensive repair for a furniture refinisher to straighten this, but it is not very noticable at all to the naked eye nor does not cause any wobble.
