Here for consideration is a magnificent chandelier by Gaetano Sciolari produced I imagine by lightolier with heavy brass. Heavy chrome, hundreds of glass rods and a feel much larger than the measurements suggest. This is a chandelier that can only be seriously appreciated in-person and not via photos. Plenty of photos provided showing details to see how good this is. Please review them all. General Description: Gaetano Sciolari has designed many great pieces. And this one is one of the largest designed. This exact chandelier may be found on first dibs, and another seller on ebay also has one listed with frankly, more alluring photos than mine- I do not have a studio. I photographed it with only about 40% of the rods in place due to the weight that was bearing on the ceiling hook. Twelve 40 watt bulbs illuminate 204 glass rods that are 18" each suspended on 6 solid brass and chrome plates that alternate in height. The quality of the brass and chrome is second-to-none. This chandelier came from an institution in West Virginia with a 7 foot chain linking it to a ceiling plate. The chandelier was kept in a humidity and temperature controlled environment which means it has survived well. It measures approx. 21" high from the top of the hanger finial to the bottom of the lower row of glass rods and is 21" wide. Condition: Brass and chrome is almost near perfect with only mention of some scuffing and light scratches to very few areas- not worth the mention but for the sake of accuracy must be. The only area to show any real patina is on the central spoke holding the three arms to the 6 fixtures. The janitors took good care of this but in the process over time. 5 of the glass rods have been broken- as the fixture has internal rods and external rods we recommend either sourcing 5 rods, or simply omitting them from the interior rod arra

Beautiful mid century Gaetano sciolari 9 light chrome and lucite chandelier
Vintage Mid Century GORGEOUS Gaetano Sciolari Chandelier. Done in all chrome and also has lucite bars. It comes with the original chain and ceiling cap. The ceiling cap is marked with the original Scioliari sticker(as shown in the picture) It has 9 lights on top with 3 lucite bars in between. The bottom of each light is done in lucite bars or rods and the center pole is all chrome. measures- about 22" wide and is 24" from the base to the top hanger in wonderful condition.very well taken care of. Chevron, pattern. 20" tall by 20" wide. Takes candle socket bulbs. Chrome ceiling cap with Sciolari tag on inside of cap. Chandelier is in beautiful condition. With very little signs of age. Found one tiny pinprick of rust top of one brass arm(see picture) one tiny dot(tip of pencil) indentation, and one minor scratch. Other than that it is a shiny, reflective beauty. Original Mid Century Modern Gaetano Sciolari 15 Light Chandelier 70s Chrome
Beautiful original Gaetano Sciolari chevron series chandelier from the 1970s. Signed with ceiling cap and vintage square-link chain. This is one of the most interesting Sciolari designs of the period and integrates well in both contemporary and mid-century-inspired interiors. The fixture is in good condition but does show imperfections consistent with age. Most notably, one of the arms is not perfectly symmetrical and there are significant scratches on the bottom caps of two light tubes. Also, there is one bottom cap missing from one light tube and a tarnish spot on a small portion of brass on one arm(see photos) Given these imperfections the chandelier still presents beautifully. I am selling my Gaetano Sciolari birdcage chandelier because we have no room for it. our house came with an original mcm chandelier so we kept that up. I have only seen one of these ever online. But i see similar ones on 1st bids for $4800. This is in great vintage condition. very little rust if any. what i did see rubbed right off. I took detail pictures showing scratches and wear on the side pieces. the size is 12 inches in diameter and 20 inches tall. all pieces accounted for. probably wouldn't hurt to have it rewired to modern code. For sale is a rare mid century modern Gaetano Sciolari for Lightolier blue table lamp. This piece is in great working condition and in overall excellent shape for its age. The white hard plastic shade is free of cracks or yellowing. There may be minor scuffing along the bottom rim of the shade. Nothing really visible. The metal grate diffuser on the top is clean and free of rust. The blue neck of the lamp feels to be enameled metal, but I am not absolutely positive. There is a very tiny little scrape on the blue neck, but it is not really even visible unless you are looking for it. Black base is in good shape. Lamp is a 3 switch lamp, and it says"Lightolier" on the switch. Very rare piece that is vibrant and in overall really nice shape. Glass Rod Ceiling Light Two Wall Sconces Forecast Lightolier Gaetano Sciolari
I am offering an excellent set of two wall sconces and one flush mount ceiling fixture by Forecast Lighting a division of Lightolier. Gaetano Sciolari designed or inspired glass rods with brass toned mounts. Pictures in no way do these any justice! I will describe the best I can and I will answer any questions to the best of my knowledge or forward additional pictures. The ceiling fixture is a flush mount approx. 11"diameter and 1"high it contains 102 individual rods at two different lengths- the outer rods are approx 6" while the center are 7.5" creating an overall drop of approx 8.5" takes five bulbs with small socket end(you will see when you receive) all wires are present and ready to go- you will need some hardware to secure to ceiling. The sconces contain 46 clear and frosted rods(one is missing a clear rod- ... morethis is not noticeable) Rods are 14"long the wall mounts are 11"high and 4.5"wide and take two standard socket light bulbs(one up and one down) all wires are present and ready to install- you will need hardware to secure to wall. Hi and thank you for your interest. When I had purchased the chandelier from the original owner I was told that this is a"sciolari chandelier" there are no markings. She is a beautiful spiral chandelier with pitting and some scratches that comes with the age. The bracket that holds it up to the ceiling is missing it can be found in any hardware store. I was told that there are a few different sizes of this chandelier and this is one of the larger ones it takes 12 bulbs. I have not cleaned. Dusted or polished it I'll leave that up to its new owner. This light was manufactured somewhere around the 1960's as a futuristic style chandelier paralleling the atomic/sputnik era of design. Prime quality highly polished brass make this a stunning 12 light, 6 upward, 6 downward with regular sized sockets, an eloquent addition to any retro home or office. Fixture total width/diameter is 14 inches by 13-1/2 inches tall(includes the tube for wiring but not the chain or canopy. Overall height with canopy and chain is 21-1/2 inches. This rare and beautiful example of Gaetano Sciolari designed mid century modern lighting is in perfect working order. And near mint cosmetic condition- no major blemishes only very minor marks from polishing and buffing over the years. The conductors and candelabra sockets are original and in perfect condition. The color of the conductors(fixture wires) are blue and brown which would be indicative of a fixture manufactured in Europe. The sale includes reproduction silver crown globe bulbs and mounting hardware to compliment the style of the period and accentuate the polished steel. Lamps weighs 11 lbs and lamp is 18 1/2" high(excluding chain) and 29" high with chain x 20" wide. Eight perforated cylinders are 9" tall by 2 3/4" wide and rings are 6" in diameter. This lamp is 22 inches to the top of the socket. The base is 7 by 7 and the top square is 6 by 6. The switch has four setting. Top bulb on. Bottom bulbs on, both on and off. The center of this lamp has two bulbs. They are a series of small bulbs strung together in a tube.unique. One of these bulbs is out on this lamp as you can see in the pictures. This is truly an amazing mid-century light fixture! Search all you want and chances are you will not find another of this size! This Gaetano Sciolari design for Lightolier is fully intact and works. It is a very large. Very bright light. According to our sources at Lightolier, it can either be hung as a pendant or wall mounted. Twelve bulbs are mounted to a chrome base with Lucite sides. 103 glass rods are threaded through the Lucite panels. Then secured in place with another outer Lucite panel, which is then secured with threaded caps. The chrome base is secured via wing nuts to a galvanized mounting plate which can be secured to a wall for wall mounting. Additionally. There is a threaded rod which would allow for a ceiling or pendant-style mount. All 103 glass rods are present and intact; the chrome is in very good shape with no dents or ... moredeep scratches; all 12 bulbs are working. The dimensions are 5 1/8" in height. 23 7/8" long, and 24 7/8" wide. Measurements are made from the Lucite panels-total width is 3/4" more if you count the threaded nuts which secure the Lucite panels. Fantastic! Mid Century Pair of ceiling fixtures. Each measures 8 1/4" in diameter& 10 1/2" drop with bulb. Both work well. Beautiful Brass discs with alternating sizes of brass cylinders. Very playful! I believe they were designed by Gaetano Sciolari but not signed so I couldn't confirm. Good vintage condition but they have been used- there is some surface patina on one of the round discs that is not on the other. It is noticeable when you are holding the fixtures side by side but mounted up I doubt it would be too noticeable. Also there is a small ring of white paint all around one of the bases where it mounts up. It is possible it may come off but rather then chance what I don't know I am selling As Is& will leave that to you. These would be gorgeous in most any Mid Century decor- maybe on each side of an entry ... moremirror or each side of a long vanity mirror. Amazing. Giant, 57 bulb, Cubic chandelier in brushed brass by Gaetano Sciolari. Period: 1960's Sputnik space age era The images above were found on a google search only. The main image above is a 57 bulb. Chrome configuration; however, the chandelier for auction is the 57 bulb brass version as you can see the metal/color in the images that depict the 37 bulb version. The chandelier is magnificent. I have only seen this chandelier in a James Bond film prior to finding this one. This is perfect for a collector or a mid century modern custom builder/decorator.
