Blues and greens. Thin strips of ceramic in the same color palette adorn the sides and back of each lamp. The painterly and enchanted luminous quality of the tiles are reminiscent of Chagall's celebrated stained glass windows. The exaggerated verticality of the lamps underline a modernist skyscraper dimension. These lamps are in very good vintage condition with no cracks. Chips or stains. They have minor wear and there is some crazing on the textured tiles, commensurate with age. There is a tiny sliver of wood missing from one base on the bottom right, and there are a few nicks/scratches throughout, otherwise no damage. The colors remain vibrant and the wood still retains its rich brown color. They work. But as with all vintage wiring, we recommend checking and updating the wiring if necessary. This is a vintage figural tile by Ruth Faktor. With various surface textures& glazes and depicting a boy and two parents. The signature is on the bottom right. But so barely noticeable says"Ruth" shown in the last pic) This f rom what have gathered online:The artist was born in Ramat-Gan. Israel in 1937. She studied ceramics with Israeli's leading sculptor, A. Doctor and Z. Guri, a noted ceramist in Israel. From 1973 to 1977 Ruth studied at the Ramat-Gan Art School where she specialized in sculpture and modern art.They are made of brown earthen clay, molded, sculpted to the finished design and then bisque-fired at 900 degrees centigrade. This Harris Strong Hand Painted Ceramic Tile Frieze is composed of 12 tiles mounted in a sturdy wood frame. It is about 43 in. by 19 in. overall and the image size is 36 in. by 12 in.
