Size: 33" w x 36" d x 38" t. Condition: In overall very good condition. Leather is in very good shape. With a little darkening to backrest, and around the top of arms. It has very cool psychedelic fabric that I think actually looks better in person than in the photos we have posted. The colors really pop. Each of the arms is raised up on(5) square chrome cubes that still have a lot of shine to them. The(4) legs are wood wrapped with chrome. 1970’s Milo Baughman Rosewood & Chrome Console TABLE Mid Century Modern vintage
Item Description: Listed is a vintage console table designed by Milo Baughman and executed in chrome over steel& rosewood veneer over wood base. The lines you see in the chrome is a reflection from the deck I photographed it on outside. So please disregard. The veneer could use a light refinish. My father kept a fan on this table in the center of it for years, and it left a light residue marking from the bottom of the fan(see photo) Also. There are a couple of spots where the clear top coat/finish seems to have flaked off the rosewood veneer. No pitting/rust to chrome. One spot on the chrome top shows where someone scratched the name“Winnie” in it. This table has been in my father’s possession for over 30 years. As he worked at a hospital, and the nun’s who ran the hospital gifted it to him when they were redecorating. So I bet some little ... morekid was unattended and made that scratch in the chrome at some point as the table was in the main entry of the hospital. It’s not a deep scratch. This beautiful pair of 2 matching chrome frame chairs is upholstered in eyepopping ... moreELECTRIC BLUE. Designer unknown. But reminiscent of the designs made famous by MILO BAUGHMAN for Thayer Coggin. Exceptionally well-made. Extremely sturdy, and of the highest quality. Unmarked, as best I can tell, but certainly worthy of further research. Chairs are very heavy. Chrome frame tubing is 1" in diameter. And each chair measures: chairs are 25.5" tall(to top of back cushion) chrome frame is 25.5" wide. Upholstered arm pads are 28" wide* chairs are 32" deep* seat height is 16.5" from floor. At front of chair These are very nice examples. But for the sake of being extremely accurate, please remember that this set is gently used, and does show some very minimal signs of use. Chrome cube frames are very nice. But do have some scuffs and scrapes, as expected. They could benefit from a light buffing with fine steel wool, but I will leave that to the new owner. Blue upholstery does have some soiling and staining. And could benefit from a good shampooing. The two upholstered cushions are removeable and zippered, for cleaning or recovering. Circa 1965-1975 Thayer Coggin. Milo Baughman LARGE Coffee Table 30" square and 20.5" high. Steel chrome frame 3/4" square bar This table is designed to be used in a corner. Was used by Kanawha Valley Bank with their series of Milo Baughman Thayer Coggin chairs in the waiting area. The elevated height(20.5" is perfect for lamps and to be used with a chair on either side. We attribute this to Thayer Coggin and are confident in our attribution as nearly all the furniture from the area was Direct from Thayer Coggin. This is superior production and the entire frame is one piece of solid metal which is rarely seen except on designs by Milo Baughman. Laverne, Katavolous& Zographos. Having the entire frame as one piece is exceptionally labor intensive and even Herman Miller and Knoll attempted to avoid production of such pieces ... moredue to the cost although they did used 3/4" bar also. The top is premium quality Laminate wood grain that looks very realistic and should not be confused with the"super shiny" absolute flat laminates that were used by lesser makers. Vintage condition with top and frame near flawless. Some worn areas to two corners. Overall more than excellent. This item will be shipped via greyhound and require collection. However. This auction is for this awesome example of Mid Century Modern furniture design. I recently remodeled my house and scaled back its contents. Thus the sale. This chair and ottoman design has strong presence and resemblance to the iconic Milo Baughman pieces. Since i can not find the Man. tag, i can only hope a buyer will recognize it for what it is. It has incredibly strong and heavy metal/chrome support structure, and i suggest you have a friend to assist with/when moving it. The fabric is sound with no odors, or thread failure throughout each piece. It has some fabric stains and fade from life and use, but nothing to take away from the beautiful design. Stunning chromed steel flat bar lounge chairs with rounded cube frame and floating seat done in the style of Milo Baughman. Awesome velvet striped upholstery in oranges. Yellows, and off white. Price listed is for the pair. h 29.5" | w 27" | d 34" seat height 17.5" Chromed steel is in great shape with little signs of wear. Upholstery is clean and free of stains. However the corner of the seat on one chair has a tear to it(see photo) I was told this was from a little puppy who liked to scratch. Mid Century Chrome Modern Dining Chairs Milo Baughman / Pierre Cardin Style
This is an amazing set of 6 chrome dining chairs. There are 4 side chairs and 2 armchairs. they appear to have the original light cream colored fabric. I have found these attributed to both Milo Baughman for Dillingham and to Pierre Cardin. The welds on the chrome. The fabric and the heft of the chairs lead me to believe they were by Baughman. On the other hand, I have found many sets of these with a solid back(as opposed to the narrow splat on these) that list them as Pierre Cardin. Cardin designed a chair with a back like these for Jansen. Until I find a definite answer to this, I will just say they are attributed to either one of those two designers. The chrome is in excellent condition with very minor scuffs. A couple of the chairs have very light rust spots as seen in pic#10. The fabric appears to be original and shows age related wear ... moreand light yellowing from use(mostly along the top where people would pull the chair back from the table) as seen in pics#8 and 9. The fabric is a light nubby, checkerboard pattern as seen in pic#6. These came from an older house and have a musty smell. I will leave it to the new owner to clean or replace the fabric. All of the chairs are solid and well constructed. Each chair retains their plastic foot caps to protect wood floors. Overall, a gorgeous set of chairs that would look great in a range of styles.
