Mid Century Modern"Chrome Dome" table lamp by Laurel. Lamp is not marked but is undeniably a Laurel Lamp.The dimensions are: 28.5" tall with 16.25" x 8" shade that has white enamel on the inside. The base measure 7" in diameter and 4" in height. The Lamp is in excellent condition. The shade looks very good although it has some light scratches and two dings one is an outword ding and one inward as though someone missed the harp puting the shade back on. The top of the shade at the finial area is a little out of shape but once together with finial on it is not even noticeable. The imperfections are very slight and difficult to photograph.I tried but they hardly show. FANTASTIC PERIOD PIECE!

Fantastic pair of Vintage Maurizio Tempestini brutalist lamps. Very sculptural. Metal with brass coating& darkened petina in textured areas with walnut veneer. Tempestini who had a long career of design in architecture. Furniture, and decor, designed these for the Laurel lamp company. Each lamp stands 39 1/4" in height with a base of 5 1/2" They are in very good vintage condition but they are vintage& have been used& do show some slight scuff marks a few places on the surface. It is nothing excessive but worth mentioning. Please study the pictures carefully& ask questions if you have any. Shade are original& measure 18" in height& 14 1/4" in diameter. Shades are in very good condition with no tears or cracks. However I did notice the bands are slightly different in color- one has a bit of green ... morein the trim, otherwise identical. Also one shade is marked at the top, Laurel Lamp Co. the other is not. Green felt on the bottoms of the base. Both in good working condition. Mid Century Modern Chrome Orb Table Lamp by Laurel. Excellent condition, RARE.
This is a fine example of pre 1970's modern style. Manufactured by Laurel. One of the great lamp makers. It still has the orginal sticker with the Laurel name on the socket. It has some light, superficial scratches and slight mottling on the chrome base but nothing through the chrome and it functions perfectly. the switch is located on the cord and it has been fitted with a half-reflective bulb which accentuates the shape and style of the base. Of course, a standard bulb and a shade could be used, its a matter of preference. In the fifties several shapes became almost synonymous with modernist and one of these was the arrowhead. The triangular shape embodied the future! It was aggressively motive. It pointed in a direction and symbolically pointed towards the future. This shape would appear in architecture on support beams or in cantilevered concrete roofs in commercial architecture. Like the rocketship. The stylized arrowhead found its way into advertising and would in the late sixties be morphed into the symbol of the fictional Starfleet on the television show Star Trek.
