Here for consideration is a magnificent chandelier by Gaetano Sciolari produced I imagine by lightolier with heavy brass. Heavy chrome, hundreds of glass rods and a feel much larger than the measurements suggest. This is a chandelier that can only be seriously appreciated in-person and not via photos. Plenty of photos provided showing details to see how good this is. Please review them all. General Description: Gaetano Sciolari has designed many great pieces. And this one is one of the largest designed. This exact chandelier may be found on first dibs, and another seller on ebay also has one listed with frankly, more alluring photos than mine- I do not have a studio. I photographed it with only about 40% of the rods in place due to the weight that was bearing on the ceiling hook. Twelve 40 watt bulbs illuminate 204 glass rods that are 18" each suspended on 6 solid brass and chrome plates that alternate in height. The quality of the brass and chrome is second-to-none. This chandelier came from an institution in West Virginia with a 7 foot chain linking it to a ceiling plate. The chandelier was kept in a humidity and temperature controlled environment which means it has survived well. It measures approx. 21" high from the top of the hanger finial to the bottom of the lower row of glass rods and is 21" wide. Condition: Brass and chrome is almost near perfect with only mention of some scuffing and light scratches to very few areas- not worth the mention but for the sake of accuracy must be. The only area to show any real patina is on the central spoke holding the three arms to the 6 fixtures. The janitors took good care of this but in the process over time. 5 of the glass rods have been broken- as the fixture has internal rods and external rods we recommend either sourcing 5 rods, or simply omitting them from the interior rod arra

It is in excellent condition and works properly. The globes are all in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. There is even(1) extra globe included! The red globes are extremely rare in this piece. They have gold stickers on them with"VV" and"Made in France" They measure 6" diameter at the base where they sit into the fittings. Likely designed by Lightolier with an Italian flare, features 4 geometric angled arms. Each arm has a glass ice cube encasing the bulb. The globes are secured by 2 chrome'knobbed screw's. Ice cube blocks have the familiar"X" ends used by Mazzega and Kalmar. These fade from a'Full Frost' to'Clear' at the end. Black polymer vented socket mounts. Comes with a chrome colored chain. This did not have a ceiling plate when we acquired it, but we have found a chrome one to include. Ceiling plate is not old and was made in China. It did NOT come with this fixture! I am selling my Gaetano Sciolari birdcage chandelier because we have no room for it. our house came with an original mcm chandelier so we kept that up. I have only seen one of these ever online. But i see similar ones on 1st bids for $4800. This is in great vintage condition. very little rust if any. what i did see rubbed right off. I took detail pictures showing scratches and wear on the side pieces. the size is 12 inches in diameter and 20 inches tall. all pieces accounted for. probably wouldn't hurt to have it rewired to modern code. Offered is a high end modernist mid century glass rod modern chandelier designed by Gaetano Sciolari for Lightolier circa 1970's. This in an impressive size features 20 candelabra base lights and all solid glass tubes in 10 arms which is simply stunning. This has upward and downward lighting which is a spectacular display even when not illuminated. Just radiant. It shows wear typical of age and use use with expected oxidation easily polished if you felt the need. Overall a fine decorative chandelier and displays beautiful as it is. For sale is a rare mid century modern Gaetano Sciolari for Lightolier blue table lamp. This piece is in great working condition and in overall excellent shape for its age. The white hard plastic shade is free of cracks or yellowing. There may be minor scuffing along the bottom rim of the shade. Nothing really visible. The metal grate diffuser on the top is clean and free of rust. The blue neck of the lamp feels to be enameled metal, but I am not absolutely positive. There is a very tiny little scrape on the blue neck, but it is not really even visible unless you are looking for it. Black base is in good shape. I am offering an excellent set of two wall sconces and one flush mount ceiling fixture by Forecast Lighting a division of Lightolier. Gaetano Sciolari designed or inspired glass rods with brass toned mounts. Pictures in no way do these any justice! I will describe the best I can and I will answer any questions to the best of my knowledge or forward additional pictures. The ceiling fixture is a flush mount approx. 11"diameter and 1"high it contains 102 individual rods at two different lengths- the outer rods are approx 6" while the center are 7.5" creating an overall drop of approx 8.5" takes five bulbs with small socket end(you will see when you receive) all wires are present and ready to go- you will need some hardware to secure to ceiling. The sconces contain 46 clear and frosted rods(one is missing a clear rod- ... morethis is not noticeable) Rods are 14"long the wall mounts are 11"high and 4.5"wide and take two standard socket light bulbs(one up and one down) all wires are present and ready to install- you will need hardware to secure to wall. The original Lightolier label is still attached. It is presently on a 12” chain– but an additional 24” chain will be included. This chandelier has been in storage for the last 15 years and is in excellent condition but for two slight flaws: 1. one of the four screw caps is missing– lost somewhere along the way(picture#7) 2. a bump has caused a very slight crease approximately 2” long along a portion of the rim as shown in picture#8. This is truly an amazing mid-century light fixture! Search all you want and chances are you will not find another of this size! This Gaetano Sciolari design for Lightolier is fully intact and works. It is a very large. Very bright light. According to our sources at Lightolier, it can either be hung as a pendant or wall mounted. Twelve bulbs are mounted to a chrome base with Lucite sides. 103 glass rods are threaded through the Lucite panels. Then secured in place with another outer Lucite panel, which is then secured with threaded caps. The chrome base is secured via wing nuts to a galvanized mounting plate which can be secured to a wall for wall mounting. Additionally. There is a threaded rod which would allow for a ceiling or pendant-style mount. Plastic stemmed version of this lamp is often attributed to Gaetano Sciolari, but. I think Thurston did this higher end version. About 22 inches high. And 17.75 inches wide. Maybe it was the glass of Merlot? But I swear I saw the simpler version of this lamp listed with a clip-on fabric shade. Ridiculous sacrilege! Condition: Minor scuffs and shows age appropriate usage. Shade: Excellent shape with only one chip on the inside where the shade mounts on the base. No cracks or burn marks. Stem: Walnut in great shape with only minor scuffs. Chrome is excellent. Bae: minor spotting. With no dents. The socket is slightly loose. But the switch works well. As a mid century ... morelamp lover.
