Vintage Walnut Mid Century Modern Wood BOOKENDS; danish martz espenet era
For Auction: Great pair of vintage wood bookends in very good condition. Not sure what the wood is exactly. But may be koa wood or something like it. Each bookend is carved into a square and the front surface has beveled edges as well. One bookend has some water damage to the felt on the bottom but it does not appear that water touched anywhere else. Other bookend has very small dent on back right corner but it is not clear if it was made that way. Each bookend measures 5.5" tall, 6" wide, 5" deep and weigh just under 1 lb. The condition is mint minus a n area of partial hai rlines cracks from production(see picture 5) Thes e hair lines do not go through to the glaze and the pot rings completely solid. Teak Wood Martz Lamp Finial, Marshall Studios, Danish Modern
This is a solid teak wood reproduction finial for the Martz and Marshall Studio lamps. Handcrafted in Ohio. The overall measurements are approximately 43mm in diameter and 31mm in height. The color may not be 100% accurate since teak wood can age differently along with the grain and different batches of wood. The last three photographs show the reproduction next to an original which is on the left. Since this is the only original that I have owned and seen personally I assume other originals could vary in color depending on their age etc. Martz finials were also made of walnut. Early 1960's Marshall Studios stoneware lamp. Designed by Jane and Gordon Martz. This is a classic Martz lamp, clearly influenced by Danish design- and produced in many colors. This one has light gray matte glaze and is in excellent working condition. No cracks, chips, or crazing. The cord is 9' long. This style lamp was sold without a harp, and was intended to be used with a clip fitter shade. Of course you can always add a harp to the lamp, or a clip to your shade to make it work. Size: 11.5" high(to the top of the socket) and a 6" diameter base.

Very nice Danish Modern lamp in the style of Gordon Martz. The wooden finial is teak as is the top of the ceramic body. In good vintage working condition with the following exceptions- There are some water stains on one shade and one area around the top banding that is missing a section of the banding. There is a flaw in the ceramic base on the backside that looks like a crack but it is from the initial firing process. The lamp measures 25 inches high from top of finial to base and 18 inches wide to the outsides of the shades. The base is 7-1/4 inches. Very nice lamp for the Danish Modern or vintage lover! The lamp was taken completely apart for inspection and cleaning. Before reassembling the lamp. The wood neck and base were very lightly sanded and professionally sprayed with several coats of top coat lacquer and hand rubbed. New felt was applied to the base. There are no cracks or chips on the body. There is no detectable color loss on the body. Other metal parts show minor age related wear and patina. The lamp is in perfect working condition. Vintage Martz WBER3 Mid Century Wood Pottery Tile Danish Modern Bookends
Vintage Martz Mid Century Wood Pottery Tile Danish Modern Bookends This listing is for this pair of vintage bookends by Martz. These have a great design with 3 pottery round tines inset into the wood on each bookend. One still retains a label that reads WBER3 74-53-50. They appear to be walnut or something very similar. Each measures 7 1/2 inches tall and 5 inches wide. With the metal part on the bottom that slides into the books they are 4 inches deep. They still have their original thin rubber cushion bottoms under the metal. These have some light aging and use marks to the wood and metal. One of the tile inserts has a hairline but is very intact. When displayed it is not a glaring flaw. One has 2 small dots of white on the wood that looks like paint and this is again minor. These just need a light furniture polish or can be displayed as ... morethey are. I am selling them as I found them out of a Modern CT estate.
