Notably superficial cuts, scrapes, and marks on the vinyl, as shown, but they don't detract from the overall functionality and structural integrity of the chair. There's also standard wear and scuffs on the rubber bumpers, as well as typical pitting and wear on the chrome base. These minor imperfections are already reflected in the price. Here we have a really beautiful Alexander Girard match striker for La FONDA del SOL restaurant New York. This match holder ashtray with striker is one of Girard's signature art pieces for Le FONDA which was opened in 1961. It has amazing design. Sculpture like form and it is in super unused condition. This ashtray has bright& vibrant orange. Blue and deep black glaze and the top portion is unglazed for match striking. There are no chips or breaks and there are no signs of any match striking on the holder. This ashtray& match holder has few tiny glaze marks or air bubbles from the original glazing process. It was produced by Mayer China who was a major producer of restaurant ware for the period and furnished by Minners& Co. of NYC. Originally these would have been given to prospective purchasers of Knoll/Herman Miller furniture in the 1950s/1960s. i have grouped them for the pictures: there are 9 total in this batch. I had listed these a few weeks ago. But they buyer never paid. That is why they are re-listed here. This is the last set of Girard samples that I have. These are Millchek samples from his collections for Herman Miller. They are the largest-scale checkerboard fabrics that Girard made during this era. Millchek is a multi-layer jacquard/brocade tweed weave-each sample has four colors of thread making up the pattern. the samples are small. up for auction is this great vintage mid-century era herman miller fiberglass with fabric front chair.it is in good vintage shape.there are a few slight scratches on the fiberglass.some where to the metal legs.and the fabric has begun to sag a lil and has some slight staining and fading.it just needs to be reglued down.normal wear in tear for this style of chair.with a lil talc this would make a great addition to anyones collection.good luck
