There are a couple scuffs to legs and the underside front support cross bar has some nicks to finish which are unseen in place(see photos) This would have originally had pirelli or fagas rubber straps with metal clips for the seat suspension. Presumably. These dried out with age and someone tacked in rubber strap suspension without clips. There is some splitting to the seat frame where the straps were tacked in(see photos) Replacement fagas straps are available online if one wanted to restore, though the current straps are functioning just fine. This chair does have some wear to the frame and rope seat and is being sold in as found condition for use as-is or for restoration. The frame has a minor split on the top of the left front leg(see picture 3) the rope seat has some minor soiling and a few breaks that have been glued or stapled back as pictured. This chair measures 27" tall to the back and is 32" wide by 27" deep with a seat height of 14" Please email with any questions. Two Mid Century Modern Poul Jensen Z Chairs & Ottoman made in Denmark for Selig
Up for auction is this great pair of Danish Mid Century Modern Z chairs with a matching ottoman designed by Poul Jensen for the Selig Company. They were made in Denmark. We believe the wood is teak-but we have seen these exact Jensen Z chairs in walnut. The chairs and ottoman are in great condition. One corner of the ottoman has a bit of damage as I believe the owners had a cat at one time. One of the chairs is missing the Selig medallion. The upholstery is also in great condition. Not sure if it is original to the chairs. The fabric has a knubby texture and is multi-colored. They come with the original Fagas straps that are also in great shape. The chairs measure approximately 30" wide x 33" deep x 26" high. Also my last photo includes the matching Selig sofa/couch that we are also selling in another auction. They have there original cushions and fabric that is worn and not in good shape. So they will need to be reupholstered. The walnut frames are in good shape. All glue joints are tight. The frames do have scratches here and there, and the tops of the arms have worn with age through the finish here and there. At some point in there 50 + year life, the original rubber strapping was replaced with standard strapping, and affixed with small screws. Selig Teak Highback Lounge Chair Danish Modern Mid Century
You are looking at a very nice and rare Selig high back lounge chair in teak with what I was told is the original blue upholstered cover(although the fagas straps have been replaced with lawn chair webbing at some point. Great original nubby olive/gray tweed fabric on cushions-the cushions are in very good condition. One has minor tear and a small stain. With its 1950s fabric that is in excellent condition. The only thing notable about it can be seen in the last picture. There is a very thin white mark barely 1"L) on the left side of the chair. It is very faint in person and could probably be removed very easily. I just did not want to chance it. On the same side in the front there is a tiny defect in the fabric that can also be seen in the last picture. Again nothing major but definitely wanted to point them out. The chair swivels and has a round solid wood base. In the picture with the back of the base you can see where there are two very thin surface cracks that were filled in. Pair Mid Century Danish Modern Designer Lounge Chairs Selig Jensen
This is a matching pair of mid century-Danish Modern wood lounge chairs. I'm not sure who made them- the only marks I can see"Style No/501 A" those marks appear on the seat bottom of both chairs. They have. At least to me, a classic Danish modern line. Sleek and sophisticated without a whole lot of fuss to them. Even without the cushions, they still look really cool. The chairs measure 28" from side to side. 32" from front to back and 28" from top to bottom. The seat is 21 1/2" x 25" I believe these may come apart- there are slotted screws that appear to hold the frame together but I haven't attempted to unscrew them. The bottom cushion is supported by a series of what I think are coated heavy duty springs or wires( see photo) The chairs do show wear. Especially on the arms and the bottom of the ... morelegs. They are stable however, and I haven't been able to find any splits, cracks, etc in any of the"stress" areas" The cushions were not with the chairs when I found them so they aren't included in the auction. As pictured- a masterpiece from the mid century modern aka Eames era! A lounge chair designed by Kofod-Larsen made by Selig. Fantastic design with incredible attention to detail. Solid walnut wood construction with excellent craftsmanship. In good structural condition with no abnormal cracks. Splits, deep gouges or unusual wear spots. Groove for webbing clips in perfect condition. Flaws: 1. Missing support webbing and clips for bottom cushion. They can be replaced. 2. Crack at the joint where the left arm connects to the backrest. I believe there is a dowel joining the two part as the connection still feels very solid despite the crack. A relatively simple fix with some wood glue and a clamp. 3. Minor nicks and scratches which mostly penetrate the varnish; particularly on the legs near the floor. To fully restore. The varnish should be removed ... moreand either re-stained or re-applied. Again, the majority of scratches are not deep. Despite the flaws. With the chair in very good structural condition, once restored I have no doubt the chair will look as good as new. Designer& Manufacturer unknown Circa 1960's Walnut(assumed) Impeccable fabric assumed gabardine 32" tall. 25" deep, 21.24" wide. Seat Height 18" and Arm Rest height 24.5" This chair has hallmarks that would strongly suggest a Jens Risom production. However the chair is unmarked and we have not found the maker through research. We believe the fabric is gabardine which was extensively used by Dux also. It is sculpted walnut reminding me also of Adrian Pearsall as well. However produced it. We know someone viewing this listing knows who did it. This item is in good condition with some minor indentations and scratches but overall very good. Fabric is sensational. This is a Fantastic Danish modern seat lounge chair is imported from Denmark and finished by Selig. This piece is in good vintage condition with mild wear due to age. The walnut frame is very good vintage condition with some minor nicks, dings, and scatches, nothing some TLC can fix. The upholstry has some wear, but can be cleaned. Classic Z chair by Poul Jensen with matching ottoman. I believe it was imported by Selig. This chair does not have a the Selig button perhaps this is a early model or perhaps is purchased in Europe and brought over to the states. The estate this chair came from also had Kofod Larsen sofas. Also a common Selig import, that had also did not have the selig button. Condition: The overall condition of the wood is in good vintage condition. It has a few scuffs and scratches as to be expected from a vintage piece of this age(from 1950-60s) but overall in great condition visually and structurally. The Straps are new elastic strapping. The cushion are brand new. With new foam and dark blue 100% upholstery fabric. Mid Century Modern Danish Modern Selig Lounge Chair The chair is in good condition. The upholstery is in fair condition with signs of wear on the arms and other areas that you can see in the pictures the upholstery I did try to wipe it down and tested a small area on the arm of the chair and it left a watermark you can see it in the picture I figure now I'll leave it up to someone who knows what they're doing. I have also tried to capture a small care in the back right corner of the chair there are also one or two indent in foam I think because of the way it was stored. I have researched and researched this chair to find out the manufacturer and have been unsuccessful maybe you can tell from the pictures the black tagged is hard to make out. Danish mid century modern teak arm chair by Ib Kofod Larsen for Selig
Made of solid teak. This chair is larger than a typical Danish lounge chair and it's very comfortable. There is a spring system under the bottom cushion which is in great shape, there are two spring coil straps on the back that are missing and two that are broken. I'm working on getting replacements but they've been difficult to find. The frame itself is very sturdy and in great condition with just a couple nicks and minor scratches here and there. The cushions are in great condition but aren't the most beautiful things I've ever seen. It measures 30" in width, 36" in overall depth, and 34 1/2" in height.

Upholstered back and cushions. Dimensions: H: 29 inches: W: 26 inches: D: 26 inches- Condition: Missing seat straps. Seat cushion not in great condition. Concave. Fabric in pretty worn condition. May be salvageable, but probably not, no tears or rips, just faded and dirty. Wear to wood. Though nothing major. Does have some nail holes underneath chair and underneath fabric on side panels. Someone put fabric over the original and nailed it. Still, not major. Structurally in great condition. This chair will definitely require some TLC to restore it to a beautiful. Functional chair. Gorgeous Danish modern coffee table designed by Poul Thorsbjerg Jensen. Manufactured in Haslev. Denmark between 1960-1969 and imported by Selig to the U.S(original"made and finished in Denmark" label visible on bottom of table) Table is solid teak with raised edge design and second-tier woven cane shelf. Table surface has some minor wear around edges but no obvious scratches or imperfections. And caning is in absolutely perfect condition. Overall quality is quite remarkable given the age of this piece, and it is a great example of the Danish school of design. Asking $895 or best offer for this very rare piece. Each measure approximately 29" wide from the outer edge of the arms. 28" high, and 30" from back to front of seat. Please examine photos closely and ask any questions you may have before buying.
