This was bought overseas, and like most items from Europe, it is not signed: no label. But, it is Knoll; the weight and concrete like fill in, in the bottom, are signs of authenticity. It weighs over 36 Lbs. It has, as you can see, yellowing from the years, on the upper part of the stem, as well as yellowing underneath, along with slight cracking/crazing on the surface and fingerprints, shown in pics 7& 8. The base is 16 3/4" in diameter. This will ship freight or Greyhound Express. The cost for freight will probably be cheaper and safer than having it packed professionally and shipped GE. I have used shippers such as Plycon and TSC and 7 day shipment auction to get the best cost for my buyers. Feel free to ask me for an approximate shipping quote. I think this could get up the East Coast for $100 or so. Out west. Maybe slightly higher. I prefer freight because I have had UPS damage a couple of high end chairs lately and have found freight to be much more affordable and safer, if you can wait a little longer. Michigan(48067) I believe this to be a Knoll Eero Saarinen table top although it is not marked. It has a white laminate top in very good condition. There are no gouges or deep scratches to the top and it has no major chips to the side edge. Only the light surface"patina" that comes with years of use. The underside edges of the table top has some paint loss here and there and some discolored spots that is expected from a table this age. It can easily be painted white but I prefer the top to stay vintage looking. The base is a Burke that has been restored. It was sanded painted and looks brand new. I have married the two pieces to make one great looking table. All you need is a top! Will it be wood. Marble, granite? I don't know that this is an original Knoll- hence'style' in the description. Most Knoll's I've seen are round at the top and not square. It will still make a great impression once you have your top atop it. It is 18.5 inches tall, and the base is 12 inches in diameter. In overall good condition for its age.I get the impression that it was spray painted at some point by looking underneath it.both that area and the top square part have a little rusting. The rusting is not something which will be seen once you have your new top on. I will ship this the most economical way possible- that is to say that the shipping fee in the listing will probably be less than what I have entered. If it is, then I will reimburse you. This large size swivel base stands 16 inches high. Looks to be from the late 60s or early 70s. The square top has a 1/2 lip and measures 12 by 23 inches. Has 2 screw holes on either side to secure an item placed on it. Chrome base has a diameter of 18 inches. Made by the MGA company in the US. TV stand Model# XPB-47. Fits a wide variety of their TVs. In good shape with no rust on top. The chrome has a medium amount of blemishes. I haven't had it pro cleaned so I'm unsure if they can be removed. I couldn't get them off with regular cleaner. Original Saarinen Knoll Table and Four Tulip Arm Chairs Not Reissue
I purchased this set in New York City about 20 years ago. Where they were used only in my art studio. These are not reproductions or re-issues. They are original production as shown by their labels. The table top has light wear as expected for its age. The steel powder coated base has paint chipping. No rust. The four tulip arm chairs are in good condition. The bases on each are good to very good. The fiberglass shells are in good to fair condition. There is some distress on two of them. Each has a pad by Steven Sprouse(limited edition) And were professionally covered by Knoll. Each pad is in good condition. I left everything in its original condition. To be refinished as desired by the new owners. I did not mind a little distress: I know some excellent powder coat people. That are very reasonable. Chair is in great condition- Lucite and vinyl show very little signs of wear- chrome does have some rusting and some pitting(see pics) could be rechromed if you like or left as is for vintage appeal. Authentic Saarinen oval tulip table 78" vintage laminate
This is an authentic 78" Saarinen for Knoll tulip table. This is a marriage of vintage top and a more recent base( from DWR) I purchased two tables and switched the tops. In this case I wanted a newer marble top with a vintage base. The older tops are actually nicer than the new ones. The new ones are plastic and look cheap. The vintage tops have a layer of laminate and then a very thin exposed line around the edge before going to the Knoll bevel. Both pieces guaranteed 100% authentic. New this table retails for $5000. Here's a wonderful vintage Burke tulip table and propeller chairs set. Wow! The 4 chairs swivel 360 degrees and are fiberglass shell style with arm rests. This is a true vintage piece and does have some detractions. It's still solid and the table top and fiberglass are in very good shape. It does have paint loss. Marks and scratches. In need of some TLC with new paint or it would look fantastic if you had it powder coated! CHAIRS: Overall the fiberglass areas are in very good condition. No cracks or breaks. The fiberglass seats have some discolorations and paint loss in a few spots. The aluminum bases are coated with white paint which has chipped off and cracked in some areas on the feet. TABLE: The base and table top is also still solid and in very good overall shape. The tabletop has no breaks or cracks. It does have some discoloration. Scratches and marks on the table top. This is a fabulous Vintage Knoll tulip dining table and 4 chairs. The chairs swivel and they are very solid. They do have small scuffs(see pic) and the base has minimal chips due to age and usage. The table and chairs are made of fiberglass and the bases are made of cast iron. Also the paint looks like it peeled on the inside top of the chairs. I think they tried to paint them I'm not really sure maybe that's what happens with age to these chairs. You can't really tell that unless you look really close. Mid Century Modern Saarinen Style Tulip Table w/2 Lucite Chairs Chromcraft? MCM
TULIPS This listing is for a mid-century modern Saarinen style tulip table and two chairs. I would guess that it is probably Chromcraft but don’t know for sure. The table is in Good condition with no tears in the soft padded white leather top and no chips or cracks in the large piece of dark colored glass that sits on top of it. Light scratches to the base as should be expected due to use and age. One chair is in fair condition with no major aesthetic issues. The other chair is in poor condition and the white cushion is missing making it easy to see the cracks around the mounting hardware that fasten the seat to the base. I have sat in this chair with no cushion on it and it’s still fairly comfortable and did not make any noises or give any indication that I was putting too much stress on the cracked lucite(and I weigh a little over 200 lbs. ... moreI think these chairs are supposed to swivel but neither one does. Beautiful Saarinen Burke tulip table aluminum base. This is the large version that originally had the large spherical top. 25" tall by 18.5" in diameter. Weighs almost 20lbs Condition: very solid condition. Sits flat without wobble. The base does show the usual darkening. Has surface swirling and scratches typical of normal use. There are several larger scratches on the base and one on the shaft. Would be stunning again with a good buff and polish. Please let me know if you have any questions I will be glad to answer them. Knoll TULIP [Saarinen] (4) Swivel Chairs Armchairs Mid-Century Modern Midcentury
Fresh out of an estate kitchen. Set of four(4) Knoll TULIP[Eero Saarinen] swivel armchairs. These all carry the Knoll“BR50” cast into the bases. Some have paper labels. This set is not new and not pristine, it’s been in use for over 30 years. There are small scratches. Etc. If you’re looking for perfect. This is not for you, but no major flaws, no big cracks or gouges, all swivel fine. That being said. They need a good cleaning with elbow grease to get rid of some grime, especially on backs and bottoms. Bases have flea bites here and there around the edges. Nothing terrible; you have to look close, but they’re there. One chair needs more cleaning than the others and has some rust that needs to be removed at the disk holding the armchair swivel to the base, not hard but you probably should know what you’re doing or know somebody. There are ... morethree cushions(so one is missing) nice color, foam is ok but not great. The cushion cases are a nice fabric with above-average-quality zippers(also need a good cleaning) and are nicely made. But they don’t seem to be original and they fit the foam pads a little loose. Off-white/cream color(finish looks like it was spray painted at some point, see pictures) four screw holes. Dimensions- 28" tall with a 22" bottom and an 18.5" top. Unmarked but exhibits all the Burke characteristics. Base is solid and clean. No dings, gouges, or dents. Some flea bites around the edges. But you need to look closely. Basically no major flaws.
