Untitled Document FORNASETTI Vintage Piero Fornasetti jewelry box. The metal exterior is hand painted and houses a sliding wood box with dovetail joinery. The very worn felt bottom has remnants of the gold Fornasetti marking. This particular hand design with the jewelry seems very hard to find. CONDITION: There are a few small nicks on the metal and a few light scratches on the hand design. Nice overall patina. The sliding wood box has some abrasions and a small nick. One of the metal tabs on the bottom is also missing. It doesn't effect the sliding at all. Please look at the photos carefully and ask all questions before bidding. A pair of vintage cat bookends by Piero FORNASETTI Italian Design
This lot features a particularly charming and visually stimulating Fornasetti design. Each book-end depicts a tabby cat's head in close up. The black and white of the design is offset in typically dramatic and eye-catching fashion by the piercing amber/gold of the cat's eyes. Natural forms- particularly the depiction of animals- were a recurring theme for the Milanese designer throughout his life. As is clearly the case here. Each time the subject was transformed into something dramatic and almost other-worldly by Fornasetti's unique magical realist/ surrealist sensibility. The bookends are in excellent condition with only minor signs of age and use. As you can see it is fully signed with a label depicting the famous hand and paintbrush trademark. For your consideration. An extremely rare Piero Fornasetti teapot warming stand, circa 1950s Italy. These stands are very rare on their own but this one was made exclusively for Dallas Nieman Marcus in a tea brewing motif"Five Golden Rules for Tea Making" which seems to be extremely rare. I can find no other examples of this Fornasetti tea motif anywhere and only one other example of any Fornasetti warmers. The warmer is in warmer is comprised of two pieces, both in great vintage condition with no chips or cracks and minimal staining. Both pieces are signed Fornasetti. Measures 3 1/8 inches in height and 6 7/8 inches in diameter. Signature is required for delivery and shipping charges include insurance. This auction is for a vintage Piero Fornasetti lock/keepsake box. In my research I could not find a single box like it. It has everything going for it. It has Fornasetti's signature pull at the top. There are two keys so you can keep your favorite lockables in it and the lock is in excellent working condition. The box is made of metal and it has a black enamel then these bright gold roman coins dot the box. As you can see in the pictures the box retains it's label on the base. The box does have a few chips typical to vintage enamel. There are also chips around the pull at the top. As you can see there is some fading here and there in the coin pattern. Perplexed by this piece. A Piero Fornasetti designed ceramic ashtray in white, black and gold with an image of a US"president" and bearing a"5" for 19th century 5-cents postal currency. Probably from the 1950s(the ruffled ashtrays are usually from this period) The Fornasetti"hand with paintbrush" logo is on the back, along with a"typewritten" history of postal currency in the US. It looks like pieces Fornasetti did for Bergdorf Goodman, Bonwit Teller, and Rosenfeld Imports, but there is only a very small"Fornasetti Milano Made in Italy" legend on the back. The piece is in good vintage condition with about 40% loss of the gold paint. Although the intermittent application of the gilt almost seems deliberate. There is a rough unglazed bit at the point of the lower left hand corner. The unglazed ... moreband and feet on bottom are grey, probably due to storage. Otherwise there are no visible chips, cracks, crazing, stains or repairs on the piece. Measurements: 5-1/2" long, 4-1/4" wide and 5/8" tall. Thank you so much for your interest! Extremely rare Piero Fornasetti porcelain White King(or possibly Jack. Valet or Knave) of Hearts tray made in Milan, Italy in the 1950s-1960s. White background glaze with hand-painted brown-haired"king of hearts" playing card image in blue, green, red, yellow, white and black. Unusual touch: this king(or jack) is smoking a pipe! Vintage Piero Fornasetti Style SAILOR Tre Spade Italian Salt & Pepper Mill - MCM
Here is a charming vintage painted and lacquered wood pepper mill and salt shaker combination by Tre Spade of Italy. The piece is very similar to works designed by Piero Fornasetti. This mill measures 12 5/8" tall x 2 7/8" at its widest. It depicts a painted wood male sailor with gold gilt accents. A coat of lacquer was then put over it to protect the paint. It has a metal salt shaker on top that has a bit of corrosion from the salt remaining in it. The bottom has a pepper grinder in it and is marked. GARANTITO TRES SPADE- Made in Italy" There are some minor scuffs to the exterior and a hairline crack to the coating here his nose(see pictures) No other damage to mention. Piero Fornasetti 19th Century Liqueur Label Ceramic Tray 1950s Italy
Rare find in this Piero Fornasetti ceramic tray decorated with 19th century liquor labels. Vintage 1950's ceramic tray shows no cracks or chips. Some mild wear on gilding and decoration. Acquired at Pennsylvania auction so it is being sold as found and will need some mild cleaning. There appears to be a spot on back bottom of tray that looks like a spot of glue or maybe in the firing. I can not say for sure. Measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" Please see pictures for complete condition.
