No tags, but our extensive research shows us that it is a Plycraft- an early model Plycraft when they were quite larger than the Herman Miller to avoid patent issues. Look up Plycraft vs Eames Herman Miller for more info. These do not have the base breakage problem of the HM 607. It is in good vintage condition. It needs 3 buttons replaced(2 on ottoman and one on chair) it has a few very small chips in the veneer wood edge- could be easily repaired, and general wear just from being so old-mostly on arms. Notice this one has the 5 legged atomic base on the chair- from the quality years. Swivels and rocks perfect. Adjustable feet to level chair. Made well. It has been in clean storage and was just cleaned with leather cleaner and wood was polished. Screws aren't as noticeable in person- the flash caught them. Pics don't really show how cool and nice it is. Super comfy too. It looks great as it is right now if you don't want to restore it. It's a money maker or a personal treasure. I hate to see it go! The wood could use some polish or a complete refinishing. But no cracks in the wood. Chrome looks ok but a little rust on the little round feet that sit against floor and some rust inside the bottom post. Its supposed to have black plastic inserts in the rectangular ends, but only one of four are still there. The leather has some scuffs on the piping and a 2 inch slit that does not go all the way through. There are no tears rips or major scratches in the wood or leather. 1960's Plycraft Leather Lounge Chair & Ottoman Mid Century Modern Eames Style
This is a very nice early circa 1960's Eames style lounge chair and ottoman by Plycraft. It has been freshly re-upholstered in luxurious marine grade black leather that is as soft as butter. The frame and wood is in great condition with mild wear and one small spot where the wood grain is lifting on one wooden support bar but it is not a crack(see closeup) The base has some rust underneath and the adjustable feet glides have rust. There is moderate wear to the five leg base. One arm is missing the four wooden screw cap covers. I have to pick up the ottoman later today so just the picture of the bottom is shown. It is also re-upholstered and in the same general condition as the chair. I will add pictures later today. Pick up only or I can help facilitate transfer to your delivery service. Thank you!

One puncture hole in the front of the chair and there is a tear in the seat cushion button as well as the buttons of the ottoman have been pushed through the original naugahyde. The wood shells are in excellent cosmetic condition with no cracks or breaks. These would be excellent to use as is or would be a great candidate for reupholstery. For your consideration. We offer this mid-century modern lounge chair and ottoman designed by George Mulhauser Mr. Chair for Plycraft, Inc. of Lawrence, Massachusetts. The shell of the chair is characterized by bentwood arms, base and high back overlaid with walnut veneer. Original black naugahyde tufted seat and ottoman with swivel bases. Snap-on headrest in two positions. The chair and ottoman are in very good condition with a few scratches on the outer edge of the bentwood shell; the naugahyde is in superb estate with no deficiencies. An oval gold foil sticker on the chair bottom identifies this as a Plycraft work by George Mulhauser; there is a second Plycraft"do not remove this tag under penalty of law" label detailing the foam and fiber percentages. The chair back measures 35" from from floor to upper edge; armrest to ... morearmrest is 35 1/2" the seat depth is 21" The ottoman cushion measures 21 1/2" x 24 1/2" at its widest points; the ottoman stands 13" high. This is a great reclining lounger and ottoman by Plycraft. This was Plycraft's answer to the Charles and Ray Eames Herman Miller lounger which had already reached iconic status in the 70's. In my opinion this chair is just as comfortable. I have seen at least a hundred of these over the past 15 years and this is one of the best. The leather is in near mint condition except for one spot seen in pic#7. One of the headrest attachment bars shows a small rust spot seen in pic#8. Pics 9 and 10 show the edge of the ottoman and pic#11 is the top rear of the headrest. The chair is solid and stable and reclines comfortably. Overall. Vtg mid-century OTTOMAN/FOOTSTOOL for lounge chair possibly PLYCRAFT Eames era NO RESERVE! Offered for auction is this classic mid-century modern ottoman or footstool that originally came with a lounge chair. It looks like a Plycraft but may be by Selig or some other manufacturer of the era. It has a leather upholstery in a golden-brown color. A bent ply shell with walnut or teak veneer and a black painted edge, and four chrome legs. Dimensions are just over 21" long x 17.5" wide x 16" tall. Condition of the leather is good with some wear showing but no stains or holes, and it's still supple. The laminated wood shell has one spot of veneer loss at one corner(see photo. The chrome shows some dulling from age and there are a few minor spots of tarnish(see photo. Still a good looking piece, it is offered with NO RESERVE. Original upholstered fabric in excellent condition. Partial Plycraft Label still on chair. There is a mechanism or tilt spring that needs fixing. The chair is in tilt position.
