I don’t know if the tassel is silk but do know that it’s a remarkable feature. And incredible that it has survived. I’ve only ever seen such a feature in old catalogs; this is the first time I’ve ever found one intact. It’s also in good shape. I removed it, gently vacuumed, and replaced it with no loss. The chandelier is also breathtaking. This is Riddle at their best. The whole is an astonishing symphony of curving. Intersecting shapes. Wow. Wow! I love just looking at it. In addition. The chandelier retains its original polychrome. Amazing. The mains colors are a coppery gold and antiqued silver. Gorgeous. There are subtle accents of green, red, and blue. Yum.
