Here is a unique one- it calls itself a trouser hanger. With a patent date on the front of November 29, 1900, but you can really use it for so many things- hang it up on the wall, and it's a nice towel rack, linen hanger, or just a general hook from which you can hang your displays! The backplate that mounts on the wall is made of cast iron, and it identifies that it is called an"Imperial Trouser hanger, put out by Pynchon& Co. in Philadelphia. The looping tubes in the front I believe are made of steel(if not cast iron, too, a magnet sticks to them) and look to have a nickel plated finish- I can't be sure, but it sure looks like the nickel finishes of the early last century- it's still quite shiny silver, with very little wear. Most of the teenie dark spots that you may see in the photos are actually dirt or grime- it could use a good cleaning. It weighs a hefty 1 1/4 lbs, and it measures 9 3/8" wide at the hooks, 2 3/4" deep hook loops only, and 3 1/8" deep from the backplate to the very front of the hook. I did notice that the backplate- which the end of the back of the hook is threaded into- tilts just a smidge off center to the left- it's really hard to notice(and easier to see from the back in my photos- see photo 7- it's just a touch off straight) and very well may be original as it does not budge for me- it's on tight. It's in excellent solid and sturdy condition. Aside from needing a good cleaning, there's a some small spots of white wall paint on the very edges of the backplate- from when the wall was painted, I'm sure. The backplate has a black finish that just has the teeniest amount of wear. The finish has served it well as there's really no rust that I can find- maybe a

Offered is a wonderful set of Vintage Mid Century Cast or Wrought Iron Wall Sconce Candle Lights. Each sconce measures approx. 21” tall from top to bottom. The decorative star on top is approx. 7” by 7” The overall width is approx. 10” to 11” at the arms. Both sconces are in good vintage condition with no breaks in the ironwork. The sconce pictured on the right is missing one of the wooden drip bowls. The other bowl will screw off if desired. A large candle could still be attached directly to the screw. The back plate that mounts to the wall and arm appear to be cast iron with a lovely gothic or art deco design. The uplip holder of the candle appears to be brass. Not sure but the finish is of brass. The candle extends up from the center of the tulip arm and has the original drip candle covers in great condition. The lights are wired and ready to hang. They are direct wired lights. A few very tiny paint flecks here and there. Otherwise very nice vintage condition as shown in photos. Includes the clip on fiberglass shade shown which was with the sconce when it was purchase at an estate sale.Shade has one tiny dark spot, no punctures, all edge lace is good, no breaks. We are pleased to offer this pair of decorative cast iron scrollwork wall mount candleholders/sconces in excellent condition. Very detailed pattern, measuring 11" x 8 1/2" at the longest and widest points. Fits a standard candlestick. Came from our family estate in Brooklyn NY and date to the late 1800s, early 1900s. Original mounting hardware and glass chimneys cannot be found but a replacement should be easily obtained from any home improvement store. Designed to fit into a socket type cylinder mount that allows it to swivel once mounted. Beautiful workmanship! Mint condition, only tiny flecks of rust inside the holder. This is a rare and unique wall mounted light fixture. All hardware is included. The light hangs from a metal(cast iron? rod. And can swivel back and forth. The wiring. In my uneducated opinion, will need to be, at the minimum, repaired, and possibly replaced. Where the metal rod comes down, there is exposed cloth wiring about 4 inches in length where there should not be any. The total drop length of the light is 25" The wiring is of the cloth type and in places is very frayed. There is a clear glass hurricane surrounding the light bulb. Outside the hurricane, the lampshade is made of hobnail milk glass. This would be an exceptional piece and is well worth any repair that needs to be made. I believe the angel slaying the dragon would be Michael. The dragon represents Satan. Finely crafted and rich with detail. Solid cast iron with a bronze finish. Structurally sound. This large wall sconce is in good condition with some mild to moderate surface wear and rust. Most of the rust can be seen on the back side and along the tops of where the light fixtures should be. This sconce will have to be wired and the fixtures will have to be added. This is the original patina. I haven't attempted ... moreto clean it or touch it up in any way.
